If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Berjaya Reykjavik Marina Hotel in Reykjavik

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 6:00 p.m. meeting in lobby followed by Orientation & Welcome Dinner

Getting to the site: Take the Flybus to Reykjavik. Make a reservation for Flybus prior to your arrival in Iceland (https://www.re.is/tour/flybus/). You will be brought to the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik. When purchasing your ticket there are two options that will get you to the hotel. 1) Purchasing a regular one-way ticket will bring you to the BSI Bus Terminal. From here, you will need to take a taxi to the hotel. 2) Purchasing a Flybus+ one-way ticket will take you to your hotel or to the nearest bus stop. You will transfer to smaller vehicles at the BSI Bus Terminal. The Flybus starts around $33, and will increase based on ticket option. A taxi from the BSI Bus Terminal to the hotel costs approximately $25 - $30 for up to 4 passengers. Alternatively, you may take a taxi from the airport to Reykjavik. It costs approximately $80 - $150 for our to 4 passengers. The ride takes approximately 50 minutes.

Getting to the site by train or bus: Use the Flybus at the airport to travel to your destination.

Plan to take a taxi from the hotel to the BSI bus terminal approximately 45 minutes prior to your chosen Flybus departure time. There are departures operating every 90 minutes. The Flybus starts around $33, and will increase based on ticket option. A taxi from the hotel to the BSI Bus Terminal will cost approximately $25 - $30 for up to 4 passengers. Alternatively, you may take a taxi from the hotel to the airport. It costs approximately $80 - $150 for our to 4 passengers. The ride takes approximately 50 minutes

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
