After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.

A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Imperial Copenhagen in Copenhagen

Start of Trip:  3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 5:30 p.m. meeting in lobby followed by Orientation & Welcome Dinner.

Getting to the site: A taxi from the airport to the hotel should typically cost between DKK160 and DKK200, a journey of approximately 5 miles. Danish Railways (IC, ICL or 029) and Öresundståg trains run from the airport to København H station, a journey of 13 minutes with departures approximately every 10 minutes during peak travel times. Turn left out of the main exit, and walk north alongside the Hotel Astoria to the crossroads. Cross Vesterbrogade at the pedestrian crossing, to where Vester Farimagsgade passes underneath a building. Follow Vester Farimagsgade north for about 450 feet. The hotel is located on the left, across Ved Vesterport opposite Vesterport Station. Bus route 5C (operated by Movia) runs from the airport to the Hovedbanegården Tivoli bus stop next to København H rail station. Tickets should typically cost between DKK18 and DKK25 for a journey of approximately 35 minutes. From the bus stop, walk north along Bernstorffsgade to Vesterbrogade, then turn left and walk along Vestebrogade until you reach the pedestrian crossing just after an obelisk monument (at the front of the Hotel Astoria). Cross Vesterbrogade at the pedestrian crossing, to where Vester Farimagsgade passes underneath a building. Follow Vester Farimagsgade north for about 450 feet. Getting to the site by train or bus: Many train and bus lines have service to Copenhagen. From main station, take taxi or walk to hotel.

End of Trip: Group transfer to Helsinki airport after breakfast; 12:00 Noon hotel check-out.

Getting to the airport: A taxi from the hotel to the airport should typically cost between 35-60 Euros, a journey of approximately 15 miles. The hotel is located a few blocks from Helsinki Asema (the central railway station). From there, either take a train (EUR2-9) or the bus (EUR7) to the airport. The train journey takes approximately 45 minutes with departures every ten minutes (except from 2:00 – 5:00 a.m.), and the bus journey takes approximately 1 hour with departures every 20 minutes. Please note that travel times and costs are approximate and can vary based on traffic conditions and time of day.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
