Meet the group at Hotel Seelos in Seefeld
Start of Trip: Group transfer to Seefeld; 2:00 p.m. hotel check-in. 5:30 p.m. Orientation
Getting to the site: From Munich Airport, there are a number of different train routes to choose from to Seefeld, Austria. You can look up the train schedule and best options for your arrival day and time online at raileurope.com. If you choose to wait until arrival, you will need to take either the S1 or S8 train from Munich Airport’s train station (Flughafen München) to Munich Central Station (München Hauptbahnhof). Once there, you can check for the best connection available at that time of day to Seefeld in Tirol Bahnhof. Total time for the train transfer can take between 3-4 hours and cost approximately €45-60. Once you arrive in Seefeld, it is a short but steep walk uphill to the hotel. You can arrange for a complimentary pick up from the train station with the Hotel Seelos, but you will need to reach out several days in advance. Alternatively, you may take a taxi for approximately €10. A taxi from the airport directly to the hotel will take about 2.5 – 3 hours and cost anywhere between €300 – €760 depending on vehicle type and number of passengers.
Your trip ends on: Monday, 28 September 2026 in Munich at Movenpick Hotel Munich Airport
End of Trip: 10:30 a.m. after breakfast. 12:00 p.m. hotel check-out. Breakfast available depending on transfer times.
Getting to the airport: A taxi from the Hotel to the Airport costs approximately €30.00 and will take about 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can travel by public transport to the airport. The bus stop is in front of the Hotel. There you can take the bus 691 to Hallbergmoos where you have to change to the S8 train. Total time for the ride on public transport can take 30 - 40 minutes and costs approximately €3.90.
Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Road Scholar no longer offers complimentary transfers to participants with “Program Only” status. However, the arrival transfer on this program is an exception to that policy due to the distance to the first hotel. If you booked your own air, there is a possibility to reserve a seat on the group arrival transfer. Reservations can be made by contacting the Road Scholar Europe team. We kindly request that you do not reach out with requests until after you have received your first information packet. The transfer schedule is based on the times of arrival for Road Scholar booked flights and will vary from departure to departure. If you are arranging your own air, we request that your flight arrives no later than 11:00 a.m. in order to ensure that your flight will arrive within the same time period as the flights arranged with RS. There is no guarantee that the final transfer schedule will coincide with independently booked flights. Please note that we will not have a final transfer schedule until approx. 7 weeks prior to the program start date, and it will be included in the Final Information Packet. As long as your flights fall into the parameters listed above, we will be able to approve your ability to join the transfer. However, we will not be able to give you your specific transfer time until we have the final schedule. In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404.
