After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.
Passport
A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.
This information about travel documents pertains to participants holding U.S. passports. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.

United States citizens don’t need a visa for any of the countries you’ll be visiting. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.
Traveling by Air
Plane
If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.
Arrival day is on September 14, 2027
Meet the group at Efstidalur in Laugarvatn
Start of Trip: 10:00 a.m. at Park Inn by Radisson.
Getting to the site: Our program begins at the Park Inn by Radisson. A transfer will be provided for those who have purchased their air through Road Scholar and arrive on the group arrival day. If you have booked your flights independently or are arriving in country early, there is a possibility to reserve a seat on the group arrival transfer on program Day 2. Instructions on how to reserve a space will be available in your Final Information Packet. Alternatively, you may take a taxi from the airport to the Park Inn by Radisson. It costs approximately $30 - $35. The ride takes approximately 10 minutes. Please review the program note “Arrival Day and Pre Nights” for more information on how to plan your arrival.
Getting to the site by train or bus: Use the Flybus at the airport to travel to your destination.
Your trip ends on: Wednesday, September 22, 2027 in Reykjavik at Hlid Fisherman's Village
End of Trip: 10:00 a.m. after breakfast; 11:00 a.m. hotel check-out. Transfers throughout the day according to flight times
Getting to the airport: Take the Flybus to Keflavik airport. Make a reservation for Flybus at the hotel reception desk the day before your departure. Plan to take a taxi from the hotel to the BSI bus terminal approximately 45 minutes prior to your chosen Flybus departure time. There are departures operating every 90 minutes. The Flybus starts around $33, and will increase based on ticket option. A taxi from the hotel to the BSI Bus Terminal will cost approximately $35 - $50 for up to 4 passengers. Alternatively, you may take a taxi from the hotel to the airport. It costs approximately $80 - $150 for our to 4 passengers. The ride takes approximately 50 minutes.
Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
