Check-in available from 3:00 PM.
Afternoon:
After checking in to the hotel and getting your room, take some time to freshen up and relax before our welcome dinner. Later in the afternoon, attend an orientation meeting. Your Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the program theme, the up-to-date Daily Schedule and any changes, discuss safety guidelines, emergency procedures, roles and responsibilities, and answer any questions you may have. Indicated times are approximate. Program activities, schedules, and personnel may need to change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible.

Evening:
At leisure. Continue getting to know your fellow Road Scholars, settle in, and get a good night’s rest for the day ahead.
Activity Note
Getting on/off a motorcoach with 3-4 steps up/down, walking up to 2 miles.
Breakfast:

Morning:
After breakfast, we will board our motorcoach with our group leader and discover the multicultural and ultra-modern city-state of Singapore.
Lunch:
At a local restaurant.
Afternoon:
After lunch, we will continue our exploration of Singapore’s culture and history.
Dinner:
On your own.
Evening:
At leisure. Continue your exploration of the city, or rest up in preparation for embarkation.

Morning:
This morning, we will ride to the port and board our ship. We will have some time to unpack and begin to familiarize ourselves with the Heritage Adventurer and participate in the ship’s safety meeting. Please note that your departure is part of our Adventures Afloat programs. All routes and excursions are subject to change – weather and sea conditions may affect the itinerary. Sea conditions affect the progress of the ship, making it run late and sometimes miss ports because it is not safe to dock. Because of this, the cruise itinerary should always be regarded as provisional. The operators reserve the right to change the content of excursions without prior notice.

Afternoon:
Continue to familiarize yourself with the ship, and attend the ship's welcome talk.
Dinner:
Aboard ship. Included beverages are coffee, tea, water, house wine, beer, and soft drinks; other beverages available for purchase.
Evening:
At leisure as we set sail through the Strait of Singapore.
Activity Note
Full day at sea. Sailing the Java sea to the Borneo River.
Breakfast:
Aboard ship.
Morning:
At leisure aboard the ship. Enjoy views of the Java Sea and spend time getting to know your fellow Road Scholars. We will also enjoy a lecture on topics relevant to our program.
Lunch:

Afternoon:
This afternoon, we will enjoy another lecture on topics relevant to our program.
Dinner:

Activity Note
1-2 hour jungle treks, on terrain that can be muddy or uneven. Insect repellant is highly recommended.

Morning:
Morning: Begin our discovery of Borneo in Tanjung National Park, known for its abundance of wildlife, including orangutans.
Lunch:
At a local restaurant.
Afternoon:
Continue our exploration of Borneo at Camp Leakey, where we’ll learn about the camp’s important research and impact in orangutan conservation and rehabilitation.
Dinner:
Aboard ship.

At leisure.

Getting on/off the ship's tender/zodiac. Swimming/snorkeling with life jackets.

Morning:
This morning, we will enjoy a lecture on topics relevant to our program as we sail to Karimunjunwa.
Lunch:
Aboard ship.
Afternoon:
This afternoon, discover Karimunjawa, an archipelago of 27 pristine Indonesian islands. We will explore the region by zodiac and discover the abundant marine wildlife with a snorkeling experience in the UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Activity Note
2 hour coach ride to Borobodur. Walking of 2-3 miles. Approximately 120 stone steps in total to reach the top of the temple, with no handrails. This is spread across 9 levels with many opportunities to stop and rest. Uneven terrain may be present throughout the temple visit.

Morning:
We will spend the morning discovering the Borobodur Temple Complex. Built in the 8th and 9th centuries CE, Borobudur is the world’s largest Buddhist monument, and an impressive testament of the Syailendra empire that ruled Java for nearly 500 years. Our local expert will take us on a journey through the complex’s many stupas, which are designed as a physical representation of the Buddhist journey to enlightenment.

Afternoon:
Return to the ship for a late afternoon departure. Later, we will enjoy a lecture related to the places and themes of our trip.

This afternoon, choose from a selection of adventures of varying activity levels to explore the breathtaking surroundings of eastern Java.

Walking 10-20 minutes at a time on flat ground. Standing for up to an hour.

Morning:
This morning, discover Lombok. This gorgeous island boasts an authentic atmosphere, hidden waterfalls, and unique Sasak village cultures, including the impressive Sukarara weaving village, where nearly every home has its own loom. In Sukarara Village, we will meet and learn from local weavers about this impressive traditional craft that the village woman carry on.

At leisure in Lombok or aboard the ship. Later, we will enjoy a lecture related to the places and themes of our trip.

This morning, discover the incredible biodiversity and underwater topography of Satonda island by snorkelling the sunken volcano setting.

This afternoon, immerse yourself in Indonesian life in the charming Sumbawa Besar, a town nearly untouched by tourism and full of history, unspoiled nature, and community spirit.

Disembarkation in Bali will follow after breakfast.

We will head to our hotel near the airport and check in with some time to settle in. Later in the afternoon, we will have a wrap-up meeting.

At the hotel. Share favorite experiences and enjoy camaraderie with new Road Scholar friends during our farewell dinner.

At leisure. Prepare for check-out and departure in the morning.
