Hotel check-in from 3:00pm
Afternoon:
After checking in to the hotel we’ll have some time to relax and settle in before our Orientation meeting. Orientation: The Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer questions. Our program is staffed with a Instructor who will lecture, conduct field trips, and serve as an information resource on program-related topics, and a Group Leader who will accompany us throughout the program and deal primarily with logistics. Program activities, schedules, personnel, and indicated distances or times may change due to local circumstances/conditions. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

After breakfast, we invite you to join Giles Ramsay for a London Theatre lecture at the hotel.

Afternoon:
We’ll board a motorcoach and ride to the Globe Theatre where an expert Guide brings to life the thrilling story of the iconic wooden ‘O’. Hear how the original 1599 theatre survived the plague, fire and political oppression and rose again in the 1990s as part of one man’s radical vision. In the walk-through exhibition space, relive some of the most iconic shows with seasonally curated displays, and even have the chance to get ready for the stage yourself with interactive costumes and props.

Evening:
We'll enjoy a performance of Oliver at The Gielgud Theatre. Cameron Mackintosh‘s new production of Lionel Bart‘s iconic musical, which he has fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne.

Morning:
At the hotel, we’ll gather for a captivating interactive discussion of current affairs with one of the UK’s leading political journalists. Examining the headlines of the day, this session will put past and present political issues into startling focus.

On your own to enjoy what you like.

This afternoon we'll have an interactive acting workshop

Evening:
We'll enjoy a performance of Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre. In Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s dazzling musical, the Baker, the Baker’s Wife, the Witch, Jack, Little Red Ridinghood, Cinderella and Rapunzel take us beyond happy ever after to discover what really matters. Directed by Jordan Fein with set and costume designed by Tom Scutt. Into The Woods is presented by London Theatre Company in association with Jamie Wilson Productions.
Activity Note
Getting on/off a motorcoach with 3-4 steps up/down. Long corridors and many stairs at the Opera House, walking distances and periods of standing for the duration of the field trip; paved streets, stairs in some historic theatres, no elevators.

Morning:
We’ll board a motorcoach and ride to the Royal Opera House where we will have a backstage exploration with a guide from the Royal Opera House. We will take a look behind the scenes at rehearsal spaces, costume and props workshops and auditorium.
Lunch:
On your own.
Afternoon:
Free time. You may want to visit one of London's many free museums including the Victoria & Albert Museum, The National Gallery, British Museum, or the Natural History Museum. Please refer to the list of Free Time Opportunities.
Dinner:
At a local restaurant.
Evening:
We'll enjoy a performance of Witness for the Prosecution at the County Hall Theatre. Accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth, will Leonard survive the sensational witness testimony? Will he be able to convince the jury, and you, of his innocence and escape the hangman’s noose? The audience are thrillingly placed in the thick of the action, as Agatha Christie’s story of justice, passion and betrayal unfolds around them. The twists and turns of the case are played out in a spectacular courtroom setting, as prosecution battles defence, and witnesses take to the stand to give their shocking testimonies.

After breakfast, we invite you to join Giles Ramsay for a London Theatre lecture at the hotel.

Afternoon:
We’ll be joined by one of London’s leading theatre critics at the hotel for an in-depth discussion of the shows we have seen.

At a local restaurant.
Evening:
We'll enjoy a performance of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Following a sold-out run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, the 5 Star “pitch-perfect musical” (The Times) transfers to the West End. Funny, profound, deeply moving and uplifting, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry is a joyous new musical adapted by Rachel Joyce from her multi million-selling novel, with “a ravishing score” (The Times) by the chart-topping indie musician, Passenger (Let Her Go).
