Located between the hills of Gradec and Kaptol, the two distinct cores of medieval Zagreb, the Upper Town is mostly known for its small, winding streets and its 17th and 18th century buildings. Contrastingly, the Lower Town is the more modern portion of Zagreb, which holds wider and airier streets and layout.
