On the Road: From Wilderness to Table in Alaska
After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.
Go Hike Alaska, the entity that will provide your foraging field trip during the program, is required by their insurance carrier to obtain signed liability release waivers from all participants who participate in these activities. Please carefully review this waiver and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. You will receive a waiver link via email approximately 30 days prior to your departure date. Please complete this waiver within 2 weeks of the program start date.
United States citizens don’t need a visa for any of the countries you’ll be visiting. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.
If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

If you booked a round-trip airfare through Road Scholar, you will receive a free transfer from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to Hotel Captain Cook on the day the program begins and ends. You will receive detailed information regarding this transfer in advance of the program. If you did not book airfare through Road Scholar, you will be responsible for making your own way to the program. Please review the suggested options. If you purchased air through Road Scholar and are arriving early or departing later but would like to join the arranged transfer on the Start/Arrival and End/Departure Dates, please notify rswestprograms@roadscholar.org at least 30 days in advance of the program start date.
