Alaska’s Inside Passage: Glaciers, Fjords & Indigenous Culture
After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.
A picture ID (passport, state issued ID, or driver's license) will be required to board the vessel. If you prefer to have your passport with you, you are welcome to bring it. On the Personal Information and Preferences Form, please indicate to us the name of your roommate/traveling companion. Also let us know if you are traveling with other individuals and wish to be assigned a room near them. In order to be prepared for your upcoming program, we need to collect some additional information in advance. The link can be found in the Recommended Websites section of your pre-program information packet. We expect it will take less than 5 minutes to complete. Please complete this form at least 30 days prior to the program start date. Road Scholar participants enrolling in this program are subject to American Cruise Line’s terms and conditions of carriage, which include an assumption of risk agreement, waiver of liability, and other important information regarding your rights and obligations. Participants are therefore encouraged to carefully review them in advance of the program. United States citizens don’t need a visa for any of the countries you’ll be visiting. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.
If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Commercial Van/Shuttle
If you purchased air through Road Scholar, you are eligible to receive a free transfer from Juneau Airport to the Baranof Hotel on the day the program begins and from the Baranof Hotel to Juneau Airport the day the program ends. Detailed information will be emailed 30 days prior to the program. If you did not purchase air through Road Scholar, you are still eligible to receive a free transfer from Juneau Airport to the Baranof Hotel on the day the program begins, but you will be responsible for your transfer back to the airport on the day the program ends. We recommend a taxi, Uber or Lyft. Detailed information will be emailed 30 days prior to the program. Based on the above information and if you qualify for a transfer to and from; if you are arriving early or departing later but would like to join the arranged transfer on the Start/Arrival and End/Departure Dates, please notify rswestprograms@roadscholar.org at least 30 days in advance of the program start date.

In Juneau, taxi is the best option to / from the hotel. The hotel does not have an airport shuttle available. Call to make taxi arrangements or you can find a taxi at the curb outside the terminal. Juneau is not accessible by road. The only way to get a vehicle to the program would be to bring one aboard the Alaska Ferry. Driving may not be a practical option.
Continental USA
This program is not accessible by car. The only way to access Juneau is via air or by ferry (Alaska Marine Highway- www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/). The Alaska Marine Highway has sailings from Bellingham, Washington, however, it may not be a practical option. Alaska Airlines and Delta Airlines have daily flights to Juneau.
