SHOWING
Quite unexpectedly, this program turned out to be a real standout. Ms. Polling has a relaxed, engaging style, and she made this slice of wartime history feel surprisingly personal.
She walked us through what happened when more than a million American GIs suddenly landed in Britain — not just the big historical moments, but the everyday interactions that shaped how people actually felt about each other. There were friendships, plenty of curiosity on both sides, and, yes, some cultural bumps along the way. Hearing about differences in dating, spending habits, and simple social customs gave the whole story a very human feel.
By the time the lecture wrapped up, I felt like I had a much clearer picture of what life was really like for both the British and the Americans living side by side during the war. It was thoughtful, lively, and full of insights I hadn’t considered before — a really enjoyable program all around.

I never received a link to the recording on this lecture. I cannot find any information on your website that tells me where to find the lecture. I never received an email telling me where to view the on-line recording. How do I find recordings of lectures I missed?
