SHOWING
I did not care for the restaurant that was painted black and red inside. The ambiance was not good--a little disturbing. the food wasn't great--tough meat in the stew and the dessert was just odd. The dancers were good, but we had seen enogh in the first section the second part of the show was a little redundant.

This was my second trip to Cuba and my husband's first. We both learned so much, and appreciate the strong connection between Miami and Havana. Jose Armando knows the Cuban influence well in Miami and he did an outstanding job of showing us the important places and experiences, such as The Freedom Tower, Calle Ocho, Domino Park, as well as the wonderful tour led by historian Ralph.
After the flight to Havana, we observed some typical neighborhoods. There is poverty, and the power blackouts occured more frequently and for longer periods, reportedly due to the oil shortage following U.S. intervention in Venezuela.
The hotels have power generators, so we did not have to live with blackouts, except while visiting some of the sites. Our favorite aspect of our Cuban experience was meeting the people. They are welcoming, and helpful. We so enjoyed the talented musicians, mimes, dancers, and marchers on stilts! Of course, riding in the classic American cars was really fun, and we loved going to the mechanic shop, Cojimar, Hershey Town, and the cigar rolling experience at a private home. It was a really great experience, and we were among a group of very nice travelers from all over the U.S. Our Cuban guide Jose Luis was wonderful once again! Thanks to all for a memorable trip!
