Using his unique experiences, including visits to Pitcairn Island, Alan offers fresh perspectives on this captivating story. This presentation explores the ‘real story’ behind the saga that’s been immortalized in books and films.

Your online lecture will take place live over the course of 1-2 hours. All times are listed in the EASTERN time zone. If you live in a different time zone, please adjust your schedule accordingly. This live online experience uses Zoom Webinar, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. Alan Dowty is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago. He has served as Chair of International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Chair Professor of Israel Studies at the University of Calgary. Alan has published widely on the Arab-Israel conflict, Israeli politics, and Middle Eastern history and politics. He was awarded the annual Lifetime Achievement Award in Israel Studies in 2017.
