Adventures Online: Advanced Digital Photography Techniques

A nice review of several aspects of digital photography you couldn’t find elsewhere in one place. I’ve taken many photographs over the years, but still learned a lot! Good teacher.

If you want to improve not only your photography, but also your enthusiasm for it, take this class. Mason clearly loves, loves, loves taking photographs and his enthusiasm is infectious.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Advanced Digital Photography Techniques class. Mason’s assignments helped me learn more about my camera and its numerous features. He responds quickly to students’ questions. His presentation style is enthusiastic and inclusive. He is encouraging and helps one believe one can develop the skills needed to take interesting and unique photos.

I’ve taken numerous photography workshops and consider this one to be exceptional in terms of content, organization, and presentation. I felt that my time was used well and that every lesson contained relevant information expertly presented. I remain very impressed. This was my first workshop with Mason. The first thing I did after Day 1 concluded was to sign up for his Lightroom workshop. I had great admiration for Mason’s expertise, organization, rapport with students, presentation style, and online resources. He met every student where they were in their journeys as amateur photographers and was respectful, encouraging, and inspiring throughout. In addition to coming away from the workshop with new skills and knowledge, my fundamental approaches to planning and seeing images have changed. It was an extraordinarily positive experience.

This was an excellent class. Mason Marsh not only knows his material from years of working as a professional photographer, but he presents it in a clear and concise manner with good examples. Time and again as the week progressed I was also impressed with his obvious love of and enthusiasm for his craft, regardless of the subject matter e.g. landscape, portrait, macro etc. He also impressed me with his emphasis on showing respect to photographic subjects, whether they be people or wildlife. The critique sessions were also very on point and useful. This was my second on line class with Mason and I am enrolled in a third one, on Lightroom, in early May. I'm so glad Road Scholar includes his excellent photography instruction in its curriculum.

I'm pretty familiar with photography but this course taught me a few things I never knew and reinforced several things I already knew. This is a great course for someone who's comfortable with their photo skills but wants to go a little further.

Mason Marsh delivered a very enjoyable and informative advanced photography class, with just the right combination of inspiration, practical advice, and technical information. I hope to be able to take another of his classes.

I really enjoyed this program and learned a lot of new techniques. Definitely take it before your next trip!
