At a Glance

As we celebrate Italy, our Campus of the Year, we invite you to rediscover your love of drawing, sprinkled with a little history for good measure. Join architect Mark Keane for a hands-on lecture and learn to sketch Ponte Vecchio — the most striking Medieval bridge in Florence still in existence. Finished in 1345, the bridge over the Arno River was once the domain of blacksmiths, tanners and butchers. Jewelers and goldsmiths eventually took their place. Existing since Roman times, the Ponte Vecchio was rebuilt in stone with three arches. It survived World War II and remains an urban gesture from the Middle Ages.
