Online Lecture: Shaping London History — 10 Women Honored in Statues

I have heard a number of lectures by Ruth. She knows a lot and makes the subject matter come alive. Would recommend any of her lectures, trips or virtual adventures.

I enjoyed learning about women who did so many important things, that unfortunately we often know very little about. Ruth Polling is so knowledgeable and engaging, and I always learn so much from her presentations.

The presentation about 10 of the statues to real women in London was full of information about what each woman contributed to her society, the conditions in which she contributed, why the location of the statue was relevant to the woman's life, and who made the sculpture, complete with pictures of the sculptures. The speaker was clear, moved at a reasonable pace, and had a reason for her selection of the 10 specific statues. The presentation made me want to find some of the statues when I am in London, and to wonder about the statues to women in our national and my state capital city. A great contribution to my celebration of Women's History Month.

This was a great program! Up-to-the-minute information presented in a short, concise, practical manner. Be prepared to take lots of notes, quickly.

Unable to afford online presentations that carry a cost so very much enjoyed this free presentation. Interesting as well as informative.
