Was the war in Afghanistan always unwinnable? Could an alternative military and political strategy have made this conflict unnecessary? This fascinating three-part series brings you an insider’s perspective on America’s longest foreign war. Former career U.S. Foreign Service Officer Todd Greentree, who served in five wars including Afghanistan, examines why the United States failed in its mission. And he’ll explore the implications of the Afghan war on potential conflicts our country will face in the future. In the final lecture of this series, Todd will take you through the disastrous end to the war, parallels between Afghanistan and Vietnam, and what all of this means in terms of the crisis in Ukraine.
