At a Glance

California is habitat and home for iconic wildlife species that have made impressive comebacks from the brink of extinction. This smorgasbord presentation will provide a glimpse of the success stories of birds of prey and mammals iconic to California including the California condors, Northern elephant seals, Southern sea otters, California gray whales, peregrine falcons and pumas. Dorris Welch will share historical accounts and her own wildlife encounters and highlight the valiant efforts of biologists and conservation organizations to save these wildlife treasures.
