Great program. Goes far beyond "see Turkey" on line ads. Explains why, how, and when like I have not seen before.

This presenter is knowledgeable and entertaining. The class is interesting, but there is only time in one hour for brief overview of such an amazing city. This definitely left me wanting more and I would really like to tour the city with this presenter.

I am not only pleased with the content and presentation of these lectures, but with the technical aspects as well. It has always been easy to sign in and there has never been a technical failure.

Volkad Yazici was very good at giving an overview of the major buildings, sultans and powerful figures of the Ottoman Empire in late 1500s. I have been to Istanbul and been in a few of the buildings but, the background is hard to glean from the magnificent structures.

Vilkan Yazici was an impressive speaker who brought life and passion to his presentation thorough his indepth knowledge of the topic. His diction was clear with a comfortable pace of presentation. PowerPoint slides were extremely well sequenced and awesome! All questions were answered in good order with suggestions of further reading materials. His historical information and personal insights, were an invaluable learning experience hearing Turkish History (Ottoman)/culture from a citizen of Turkey,

A fascinating quick look at historic Istanbul, with information on Ottoman rulers and customs. If you are planning a trip, this would definitely give you a good idea of some things to see, and if you are not planning a physical trip it is just a wonderful way to take a short virtual trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

This virtual visit was just perfect for me. Not only did we see some of the places in Istanbul to visit, we learned so much about the culture and history behind these places.

The presentation on less well-known but central and fascinating aspects of Ottoman Istanbul was delightfully recounted, clear, well illustrated and very entertaining. I would highly recommend it to anyone with curiosity about other cultures in other centuries. I have visited Istanbul more than once but am considering another visit because of this. presentation. Very informative, instructor knowledgeable and his use of great pictures truly enhanced his presentation. It felt like you were walking along Istanbul with him and even though I have been in Istanbul there is always so much more to learn! I wish the webinar would have been longer and look forward to similar ones.

Helpful explanation of a limited number of attractions to visit for short cruise stop visit. Provided enough details to determine whether or not it was valuable or not to include in an itinerary.
