Whether you are Catholic, Protestant, Jew, Atheist or otherwise, if you live in the West, the Protestant Reformation has dramatically shaped the way we see ourselves and our societies. We will explore how the Reformation shaped the way we understand religion, politics, the ideal life and ourselves in ways both intended and unforeseen.
General Notes
Your online lecture will take place live over the course of 1-2 hours. All times are listed in the EASTERN time zone. If you live in a different time zone, please adjust your schedule accordingly. This live online experience uses Zoom Webinar, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. You will receive a confirmation email when you enroll, and a reminder email one week and one day before, as well as the morning of the event with a link and instructions on how to tune in. You will not be pictured on screen during the lecture, but you will have the opportunity to ask the instructor live questions using the Q&A box. Unless otherwise noted, all those who enroll in this program receive access to the live event as well as a recording of the lecture that you can watch any time within the two weeks following the live event.

I found Dr. Brian Carwana's lecture, Protestant Reformation and Founding of the Modern West, to be well-constructed and intelligent. He covered cultural aspects of the Reformation that continue to turn the wheels of our society today, while explaining their significance in its historical time frame as well. Dr. Carwana is personable, and it's clear he values the importance of religious development as one of the most vital keys in the growth of societies.

The Reformation is a topic that rarely generates this profound and thought-provoking look. This historical event is infrequently satisfactorily explored. Certainly, a one-hour lecture can't hope to do justice to the subject, but WOW! Did this lecture open doors and suggest a feast of food for thought! This is a brilliant lecture and should be repeated frequently.

A new consideration of daily life in Western civilization. Not just a one-time adventure, the instructor knew his stuff and communicated in a clear, concise manner. Knowing a recording will be available for a while is perfect and I'll take more notes when I view it.
