At a Glance

With world-famous summits to climb and Giant Sequoias that have been growing for nearly 3,000 years, Yosemite National Park is one of America’s true treasures. Join park experts for an in-depth look at the landscapes, ecosystems and cultural history of Yosemite — all from the comfort of your own home — as you join us for this online learning adventure, live from California! Explore the park during virtual field trips to El Capitan, the Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and more. Take in lectures on the history of Yosemite, the ecology of Giant Sequoias, the geology of the park and how this national park has adapted to modern times and visitors. Along the way, get to know your fellow Road Scholars as you join in interactive Q&A sessions and share your enthusiasm for the wonders of Yosemite.

Best of all, you’ll…

  • Journey into the heart of Yosemite Valley during a virtual field trip that begins at Tunnel View and continues to Old Inspiration Point, “Gates of the Valley,” El Capitan, Yosemite Falls and Half Dome, and ends at the iconic Ahwahnee Hotel.
  • Get a first-hand look into the effects of glaciation during the past 20,000 years during a virtual field trip in the Yosemite Valley and a visit to the Lyell and Maclure glaciers, and the Tuolumne Meadows area.
  • Further your studies of geology from a thrilling climbing perspective of El Capitan and during an online exploration of El Capitan Meadow, Columbia Point, Cook’s Meadow and the Merced River.
