Adventures Online: Exploring the Religions of the World

This is a wonderful program. I learned quite a bit and was able to clear up one or two questions I had. The speakers are very much Subject Matter Experts and well worth the time and attention.

Very well planned presentation, expertly and engagingly presented. The amount of coverage of each of the five featured religious systems worked very well for the time allotted. The talks were very clear and easy to understand, while still fostering curiosity about wanting to learn more. The gamut of beliefs and ways to follow a religion is very wide. The chosen major religions gave excellent examples of many of these ways. The pre-program materials gave overviews of each talk along with short, illustrative videos that can be reviewed at any time. These really helped me prepare for each talk as well as serving as reminders at the end each day. Brian Carwana has a gift for communicating and entertaining!

Road Scholar's online lectures and class are stellar. I have learned so much about art, religion, architecture, archaeology, history, and more. The lecturers are experts in their field. I never walk away disappointed.

This course was outstanding -- Instructor Brian Carwana he has a wealth of knowledge and communicates it effectively. He was very welcoming to everyone and provided a very balanced overview of 5 major world religions. I was never bored and left the week with renewed motivation to pursue further study of the topic on my own. He also invited a practitioner of each religion to join us each day, to make the religion feel more personal and to allow us to ask all kinds of questions -- even naive questions were welcomed. I highly recommend this excellent opportunity.

In fact, Brian Carwana and daily guest speakers, provide such balanced, interesting and thoughtfully presented content and conversations, that it made for an especially thought-provoking learning experience that will keep you thinking and be inspired to continue learning for some time to come. There are many misconceptions about the various religions and little opportunity to get factual, broad based information. This program offers that chance.

Brian is an amazing, very articulate and knowledgeable speaker. Is very open to feedback from others. Has a lot of facts he tells in a story...gteat stolyteller as,well....hectells the story of religions and makes great comparative study

This was a very fine program which was well put together.

Brian's introductions were thoughtful and thorough, and he was careful to solicit comments and questions from the participants. His visitors were knowledgeable and effective in building on Brian's information and they also involved us in their presentations. Overall, a very good introduction to a topic of great extent and sensitive interpretation.

A great overview of five major world religions, packed with information. Brian was fantastic and engaging, and the individual experts were very helpful.

Brian was an amazing instructor. I went to Catholic School from K-12, and we learned nothing about other religions. I was surprised to learn how similar the roots of Islam are to Judiasm and Christianity. I thought the comparison and overview of the 5 Religions really put it into context. I read a lot of historical fiction, watch world news and travel (54 countries!) for cultural experiences - I now feel all that will be more rewarding by taking this class. Looking forward to learning more. I jived with the the Hindu's beliefs that ignorance is the main issue - I wish everyone could be exposed to this learning. We would have a more tolerant, kind world.

This program is a must. The program presenter, Brian, is knowledgeable, personable, and creates an inclusive environment for learning about different religions. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a better understanding of the different religions and the people that worship them. We would all be a better people if we understood each other better.

I thought this program was outstanding. Brian and the various denominational speakers were fantastic. Brian has a wealth of information which he is able to concisely convey in a fairly short period of time. I would highly recommend taking. Very informative and very engaging.

This is an excellent overview of the beliefs and practices of the world's five great religions. But even more, it follows each through the geopolitical and socioeconomic environments in which it arose, flourished, and has undergone major changes. Dr. Carvana has an amazing ability to connect the dots, and to present enough detain to make beliefs and practices come alive, while not getting lost in the details. The underlying assumption is that each religion is true for its adherents, and provides guidance for living a good and moral life within its own framework.

The course material helped me to better understand historical events and the thinking behind the rise of fundamentalism in the world today. I was surprised both by the similarities and the differences between religions. Brian helped me to comprehend some religious thinking that has puzzled me. Knowledge is better than ignorance.

Excellent program for those who would like to have a greater understanding of major religions of the world. Presented in a fair, logical manner. Came away from the class with a number of stereotypes busted.

Brian Carwana is an incredible instructor! The subject matter was presented in a scholarly fashion. Brian and the Road Scholar facilitator created a comfortable setting that encouraged class participation.

How do you learn how others worship, practice, or believe, and why DO they believe what they do? I've read books, but nothing has touched me as much as taking this journey with colleague Road Scholars! Our RS Guide and our teacher, Brian, gave us both a wonderful educational experience and a chance to bond with each other. I would do this again!

This engaging and educational class is well worth the time and money. I encourage anyone who has an interest in knowing more about religion both practices, history, important points participate in this well presented program.

"the Religions of the World" was an excellent program. In instructor, Brian Carwana, gave us depth of information and could answer any question we asked.
