Nancy – Class of 2020 | Ames, IA
I had put off signing up for this trip because I thought I knew quite a lot about this topic. I finally decided to take it because I am so impressed by the instructor. Well, I was certainly surprised and gratified by how much I did learn, both about Normandy itself and about D-Day. The instructor is an incredibly talented presenter who does a great job of lecturing and presenting virtual field trips that give one a real feel of the country. I highly recommend this program.

Highly recommend Road Scholar On Line. I received the Best of Normandy From Giverny to D-Day qas a gift from my adult children and can honestly say that it was one of their best ideas.

This was an entertaining informative session about an area we’ve always heard of, but in a new way. I learned more than I would had I rented a car and gone — the history and unique features. Putting the Normandy invasion in perspective of the then current history and features of the area was very interesting. The program has given me the itch to visit

Excellent program. Nettah has an extensive knowledge of the history and culture of Normandy, from its Viking founders to the Impressionist Painters and D-Day, and presents this information in an informative and interesting manner. I would recommend any program given by Dr. Nettah Yoeli-Rimmer.

Excellent program. I learned a great deal from Nettah. He is extremely knowledgeable, presents well, and makes this on-line program enjoyable. If you can’t go to Normandy, let Nettah take you virtually.

If you’ve ever wanted to go to Normandy for any reason, run, don’t walk, to sign up for this totally absorbing and appealing visit. Full of history and vistas. Only thing missing is wonderful meals, the cheeses of the region, a beach breeze now and then. Another great Road Scholar achievement.

The very best presentation on Normandy, Impressionism, Roman and Gothic architecture, food of Normandy, and the sights in Caen, Rouen, Le Havre, Giverny, and the countryside. Highly recommended.

This is my second program I have taken with Nettah. He is very knowledgeable and is so interesting. He presents just the right amount of information. I have been to the Normandy area in person and I learned so much more from Nettah. Would definitely recommend.

This program was a wonderful introduction to the history, art, architecture, customs, food, and people of the entire region of Normandy. The audio visuals used were superb and made me feel like I was there in person. I have wanted to travel to this place for quite some time and completing this program has only made me want to go there even more than before to see these beautiful places and continue to learn about them.

Wonderful instructor; so knowledgeable and personable. I've taken two virtual tours through Road Scholar and I'm now calling them my "Great Escapes." This is the next best thing to being there and a bargain at twice the price!

This virtual tour gives you a very enjoyable introduction to Normandy. Dr Netttah Yoeli-Rimmer is a font of knowledge about Norman history, geography, art, architecture, WWII, agriculture, cuisine, and so much more. However, the subject matter he presented was never overwhelming. The videos he made for the places we "visited" added authenticity to the experience. I actually felt like I was on Omaha Beach and in Monet's house and gardens. A worthwhile experience!

If you wish to travel to Normandy and visit "The Beaches" of D-Day with an expert guide who knows and thoroughly explains the history and is very sensitive to the emotions, then this program is your very best option till real travel is possible. You will feel as if you are there. In addition, you will learn (and see) about the "rest of the story" re Normandy--it's historical beginnings and lovely towns, its rich delicious foods, its Impressionist art and artists, and its unusual and beautiful geography. Treat yourself to an amazing get-away from covid. It is worth every dollar!
