This is an awesome, must-do program! Our Group Leader, Lee Vale, was beyond excellent. His Masters in Anthropology and his fabulous talent for "Story Telling" brought the adventure alive. Levi, my grandson, really enjoyed him, he was so patient with the kids.
We both learned so much, leaving us with a hunger to learn more about Alaska and the people who inhabit this beautiful State.
The schedule was perfect! I would not change anything. The timing, length, order of activities was well thought out and flawlessly executed.
Thank for a wonderful adventure.

What an exceptional program we experienced! We had the best leader, Lee Vale, who introduced our group to his Alaska home state. From wildlife to glaciers, nothing was left out ! Our two grandchildren (10 and 12) couldn’t stop talking about all the excitement that they attained!

This program met my every expectation and was a great experience for my almost-13 year old granddaughter too. The group leader, Lee Valle, made the program extra special with his storytelling and ability to manage the intergenerational aspect of the program. While you only see a tiny portion of Alaska, the length and size of the program was excellent and enough to help one understand the allure and beauty of Alaska.

Road Scholar gave us and our grandchild the best experience of Alaska anyone would ever want. It was educational and well as fun. Our grandchild, age 9, really enjoyed meeting new people and the group leader, Lee Vale, as awesome.
He was very engaging for us and our grandchild we will go again with the next grandchild when he reaches age 9 or 10. Very age appropriate for anyone age 8-12.

My grandson and I very much enjoyed the Alaska adventure. I loved the float to Spencer Glacier and the Resurrection Bay and Aiaika Bay cruise. Seeing a large number humpbacks bubble net feeding and a lone orca cruising about were experiences I cherish. One highlight for my grandson was interacting with the Alaskan husky dogs, particularly the puppies.

The whole trip, from beginning to end, was so much fun. Very engaging for my 8 year old grandson, and for me as well. We both loved the wildlife cruise and the dogsledding - although be warned that you can expect your grandchild to go home asking for a puppy. Particular highlights were the other kids on the trip - a wonderful group of curious children. The trip was so well organized and our guide, Sheila, was outstanding. She had a knack of getting the kids to really listen to and learn all the information she had to impart. I highly recommend this trip.

The Grandparent-Grandchild programs offered by Road Scholar are unique. I have taken six grandchildren on these trips one at a time. I believe I have contributed to their curiosity, independence and desire to see the world. It has allowed me to share a special experience with each of them. Parents are important but they change the dynamic. Grandparents and grandchildren are united by the common enemy! (Margaret Mead)

My grandson and I enjoyed this trip immensely, enjoying wonderful adventures and learning experiences and building memories for a lifetime. We saw two pods of orcas and watched a glacier calve four times. Simply amazing! All of the tour details were beautifully planned and then carried out by our wonderful tour guide Sheila Moloney.

Wild about Alaska was an extraordinary introduction to Alaska. We had a unique opportunity to bond with other participants and enjoy seeing our grandson bond with his peers. We will long remember the experiences we gained on the many field trips included in this Alaskan adventure.

We had lots of Alaska experiences in our six days! Sleeping overnight in an aquarium and waking up among seals and seabirds was a high point. Our grandchildren loved the train, float, and dog rides.

The Alaska program was terrific for my 9 year old grandchild. Definitely a fabulous trip for 8-11 year olds and teens who have a real interest in wildlife and conservation.

My grandson and I had a wonderful time! The wildlife boat trip out of Seward rewarded us with more wildlife than I'd ever dreamed I'd see. The dog "sledding' on wheels was what the kids all wanted to do more than anything else, of course, and playing with puppies, and it didn't disappoint. And if you've ever wanted to stay the night in an aquarium, now's your chance. I drifted off to sleep watching puffins paddling around. That's another first for me. I'll always remember that.
