I knew that the Road Scholar Hanseatic Cities trip would be wonderful. But the more I learned about it, the more excited I became. Then the trip, the locations, our guides and fellow travelers exceeded all my expectations. I even found the record of my great-grandparents emigrating from Bremen, their arrival date in New York, and the name of their ship. What a terrific and enjoyable experience!

I have been to Germany many times (including with Road Scholar), but I chose this program because Road Scholar is the only US tour company that I know of that goes to Hamburg, where I had not been previously. I am a genealogist and although I have no roots in Germany, I found the talk by the professional genealogist and the excursion to the German Emigration Museum in Bremerhaven highly interesting and educational. I especially enjoyed the visits to Lubeck and Bremen. The group leader, the program participants, and the hotel were all wonderful. Glad I picked this program!

This RS trip has a broad and personal appeal. Everyone who was interested in their family history before and after emigration had much to appreciate, and the tour was a revelation of the past as well as well as the ongoing fundamental changes in the cities that we visited.

This program is outstanding in every way: leaders, instructors, museum guides, itineraries, food, and the hotel were all excellent!
