At a Glance

Make unforgettable holiday memories aboard our first-ever floating campus as you set sail for the mysteries of antiquity over Christmas and New Year’s. Beginning in Athens, you’ll journey alongside experts from the proud Acropolis to the Great Pyramids, astounding edifices that have since become the defining symbols of their respective countries. Then, continue deep in the mystic deserts of Jordan, where you’ll spend New Year’s Day exploring the incredible ancient city of Petra. What’s more, unlike most cruise ships that are briefly in port, you’ll have both hotel and ship overnight stays in many locations, giving you plenty of opportunity for deeper exploration. Make history with us on this incredible final voyage of our inaugural season!
Activity Level
Choose Your Pace
This program offers two activity levels to choose from: one that has less walking and fewer stairs and another at a more active pace.

Best of all, you'll ...

  • Climb the Acropolis, one of the world’s most impressive ancient sites and the symbol of Athens
  • Marvel at some of Egypt’s most mysterious and impressive structures, including pyramids at Giza and the Great Sphinx.
  • Explore Petra, an awe-inspiring city of tombs, monuments and other structures that stretch over a hundred square miles — four times the size of Manhattan.
  • Sail exclusively with ship mates who are all Road Scholar participants, as dedicated to learning as you are.

General Notes

We’ll have up to 350 Road Scholar participants on the ship, divided into groups of 35 for shore excursions. Please note roommate matching is available in categories F, H and L. Give us a call to combine this learning adventure with select dates of "Odyssey at Sea: Greece, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt" (#23519) for even more learning on board the Aegean Odyssey.
