Amazing itinerary; leaders great; accommodations and food outstanding; private jet experience out of sight! Expensive but a great value considering the itinerary, luxury hotels; outstanding food; private plane (made arrivals and departures through multiple airports mostly painless).

This program was keep the pace on steroids You need to be ready for it. Packing keep it light Most days no time to change from day to night No real dress up needed But, easy flowing for a quick rinse. It is very hot Some day are going from very early to 6 PM just in time to go right to dinner. Stamina is important here. The idea of seeing so many sacred places is wonderful and I appreciated that. Most countries used the UK plug so you do not need alot of different plugs These are high end hotels. The steps in many places are very high. Keep that in mind if you are petite. We really did not have issues with insect problems. Some hotels make rooms very cold. Some buses had bathrooms on the bus. Early morning rises to to put suitcases out for pickup. Luggage management was exceptional. Most times in the room on arrival or not much later. You do not need to over pack for this trip Less is more. Many days you are going right from the day to dinner no chance to change, Good walking shoes a must. Sunscreen a must. Knee length or over knee shorts ok in many places Bring a few easy to rinse. You will be happy you did. In Oman you do need cover up for the mosque Topt to wrists bottom to ankles Every place else covering knees and shoulders is fine and it is VERY HOT. A neck fan would be a good idea. Please prepare for stamina. This is seriously keep the pace on steroids but worth it.

Take the time to be prepared for this incredible program. The Activity level is high but with some preparation you can be ready to go. Highly recommend you look at not just the days you will be in each site but also account for the amount of travel.

To explore a part of the world where most of your friends, neighbors and family have never even thought of going, all while enjoying the absolute BEST in hospitality. Setting foot (literally) in history and truly experiencing the history and culture of a people. Putting yourself in the company of other like minded travelers and sharing observations and learnings. This… this is why you need to put this trip on your list and make it happen.

The Private Plane Trip lived up to my expectations and beyond. This is not a restful trip but it certainly engages all your senses. The sites are spectacular, the educational opportunities engaging and the private plane and crew.....such a very enjoyable and humane way to travel. Loved it all!

We have been independent, budget travelers for many years; We had been a bit hesitant about going first class with a group. We got to places that would have been impossible without the excellent program offered by RS. We EXPERIENCED culture and and history came to life through our local guides, and well curated local foods and luxurious hospitality.

This was an experience of a lifetime, to travel nearly around the world on your own private jet in 5 star luxury. The pace of moving from one location to another in different time zones every 2-3 days is a bit strenuous but the rewards at each new location were the added bonus at the end of each travel day. There were many hot and sweaty days but you can’t experience these locations without some sacrifices. A nice cleansing shower before dinner was our reward on those days. You will never forget a trip such as this!

This was the trip of a lifetime. Not only did we visit World Heritage sites, but we traveled in luxury, staying at 5 Star Hotels. Our expert native guides all had master's degrees and were the best!!! Lectures given in each country were by experts with doctorates. With airport terminals worldwide becoming humongous and terminals far apart, travel to multiple countries can be extremely stressful; not so on this trip as our passports were collected the night before, and we were able to move through immigration and security smoothly and, of course, our plane waited for us if we were delayed for any reason. I looked forward to traveling on our jet with four lovely flight attendants to look after us (44 passengers) and a wonderful chef to provide delicious menus. We had two Road Scholar Guides who traveled with us, ensuring a smooth trip to all the countries. Check the incredible sites visited. Usually, there are always people on a trip who find reasons to complain, but not on this trip. We all agreed that if another trip like this becomes available, we are all signing up for it. Two of my friends have already signed up for the September 2024 trip, and two more are checking it out right now.

Excellent trip! From the private plane, to the RS guides (Hilary and Dave) to the incredible Steve, everything was handled efficiently and professionally. The staff on the private plane was also quite professional, efficient and warm. They all went out of their way to make each plane ride memorable, if not also delicious! Each country experience was outstanding. However, I would like to make a special note regarding the INDIA TEAM. They anticipated and planned for our every need: cold water, cold beverages, snacks, head coverings, socks, electrolyte packages, welcome parties at our hotel, elephants and tight-rope walkers, to name a few. Both INDIA country guides were very well educated and obviously enjoyed imparting their knowledge. This was a life-altering experience. I will be mulling over everything that I saw and did for the rest of my life. I cannot stop talking about it to my family, and I cannot stop thinking about it.

This was indeed a trip of a lifetime! To visit so many countries and see so many sites that I have long wanted to see in such a seamless manner was unbelievable! The properties were all extremely nice too. Thank you Road Scholar, Chris, Robin, Gary and the flight crew for making this fun and easy! PS, It was nice to be pampered too! P.S. It's been two years and I am still spoiled from this trip. I have some really awesome memories! Thanks again for a fabulous trip!

This is a special trip, taking you to so many cradles of civilization and wonders of the world. A trip based on UNESCO World Heritage Sites with great guides, chances to meet people from all over the world, and interesting traveling companions is just what I was looking for, and I found it.

Special kudos to Steven (logistics), Carole and Adam – guides, and our local guides especially Singh. This was a fabulous trip due to the private jet (a true luxury), the world iconic landmarks visited, and the attention to detail by Road Scholar trip planners with multiple surprises in addition to what was promised. While our time at each location was short, the experiences helped us see some of the culture of each. All (except a couple) of the activities were enjoyable and many were emotional and meaningful . For those of us new to discovering the world – Road Scholar offered an affordable luxury experience. Experienced world travelers already know of the differences in values held by different regions and countries, as well as the same care of family found universally – it was exciting to learn this for ourselves. The highlight events of the trip for me were: the camel ride near the pyramids in Cairo, tour of the Sikh kitchen at the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara in Dehli, tranquility and beauty of Cambodia, feeding the elephants at Nahargarh Biological Park, the iconic Taj Mahal, vast Wadi Rum, viewing Queen Elizabeth’s funeral with the Brits, the forgotten temples of Angor Wat, Angor Thom, and Banteay Srei. I do suggest you find another location besides Borobudar in Indonesia. There was too much bus time for the limited sites.

This is an amazing, once in a lifetime experience that enables you too see these iconic sites very efficiently and comfortably. It is perfect for those who are traveling solo. It requires a significant investment, but is worth every penny. We visited countries that I would never visit on my own, but, through Road Scholar, we were led through all formalities by experienced people who know how to pave the way for you and we had experiences that you cannot arrange on your own. Traveling by private jet was a wonderful experience. This is a strenuous trip with long days, lots of walking and stairs, so people should go while they still have the stamina. Don't think about it, just GO. You will be so glad you did!

Trip of a lifetime, and chance to see the world from ground and sky. I found not much need for currency exchange, as everywhere seemed to gladly take USA cash. If you have a CPAP or other necessary electrical appliance, please take the adaptor issue seriously, do your own research, and shop widely for them. Please adapt to heat before the trip, as most of this trip is a sweat bath. Wear quick drying clothes and carry quick-dry towels.

All the places, except England, we visited in this trip are the places I had never been before this trip. The itinerary of the program was very conveniently manageable for me, although there is some reservation that I wished for a longer time in some places. But we had only 3 weeks. In general all lodgings, meals, transportations, and local guides were on top of five stars with some variations of the country. Steve was very quick, clear and efficient in every matter of logistics. Carole and Adam were very patient, kind, look after every detail of us. And most of all, they all are very witty and fun to be with. I really enjoyed this trip.

Excellent trip! Stephen made traveling worry free. Loved Carole and Adam. Enjoyed our “classmates.” Country teams were great, especially India! Would be interested in another private plane tour, especially of Africa if it centered around wildlife. Great trip!

A unique opportunity to experience 11 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 7 countries in three weeks, including 2 countries not often visited - Myanmar and Omar. Incredible sites! Although fast paced, the private plane provided a welcome chance to relax and refresh in luxurious surroundings. I was on the inaugural journey at the beginning of October, which was almost flawless due to excellent planning by RS and Gary (the "baggage guy"). While our group was not able to visit China due to the unexpected actions of the Chinese government, RS did a great job of securing a fascinating alternative (Jaipur, the Pink City of India), plus providing us very generous compensation for not visiting China. Hotels and meals were very good to excellent. The places visited were truly outstanding. Overall, this was a very good trip; however, there were two areas lacking or needing improvement: (1) insufficient educational content. Having completed over 40 RS programs, this one was surprisingly weak on the educational component (mostly quantity, but also quality). (2) too much emphasis on shopping - either visits to upscale shopping places (primarily India) or "factory tours" that were 90 plus percent dedicated to gift shops and several of the local guides (most notable in Petra) spent more time focused on selling stuff than on the history. In this respect, this program seemed more like a commercial (Tauck or others) trip and not the educational journey RS is known for. It was still a very good trip and I would recommend it (relatively inexpensive compared to private plane tours offered by Smithsonian / National Geographic), but expect a more "touristy shopping" experience than most RS offerings.

Discover the World by Private Plane 10/8/2019 - What a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel with new friends and in one trip visit the Pyramids, the Treasury at Petra, go riding through the Wadi Rum sand valley, cruise on the Irrawaddy River and the Sea of Oman, and stand before the Taj Mahal. This was my first Road Scholar trip and was even better than I had expected. I will be signing up for more.

This trip was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Traveling by private plane made it very exciting and was worth the money. It is definitely a Keep the Pace journey and by being so we saw and did a lot. Road Scholar has made Discover the World by Private Plane an accessible adventure physically and financially. I would do another in the future if offered to another area of the world. Thanks to all those who made our trip a success.
