At a Glance

Deepen your bond with your grandchild and your love for the game of golf as you both play the historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, a historic course graced with magnificent trees, picturesque mountains and a beautiful river. Take part in daily small-group instruction and practice each morning with PGA Professionals at Shawnee’s Tillinghast Golf Academy and NIKE Golf Camp Instructors, who will introduce you and your grandchild to the great game of golf and the basics of play including history, etiquette and tips. Then play nine holes each afternoon to try out what you’ve learned.
Activity Level
Outdoor: No Sweat
A minimum of nine holes of golf a day with carts provided. Rental clubs available with prior arrangement. Golfers of all experience and ability levels welcome.

  • Enjoy a 30-minute private lesson with your grandchild and a golf pro in addition to your daily instruction and a Master Class from PGA and NIKE Golf Camp instructors.
  • Play golf each afternoon on Shawnee’s 27-hole and Great Bear’s 18-hole championship golf courses to work on the skills taught during your morning lessons.
  • Close out the week with a special putting contest and a farewell dinner with your teammates and opponents, featuring local specialties!

Brian Bergstol
Brian Bergstol is the touring golf professional for The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort and a PGA apprentice. He is a graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa., where he was the number one golfer for the Moravian Hounds all four years. Only months after becoming a certified professional golfer, Brian qualified for and played in the 2008 U.S. Open in Torrey Pines, Calif. Between tournaments he shares his experience and knowledge of the game with other players who want to improve.
