The city of Lisbon is a city of immigrants and blended cultures, with Roman heritage and Arab roots. Explore on foot a maze of narrow streets, winding alleyways and steep flights of steps in the historic neighborhoods of this vibrant city, from the medieval castle of São Jorge high on the hilltop to lovely Alfama, spread over the southeastern slope of the hill. Walk to local museums to learn about the royal family, Portugal’s role in world exploration and more. And visit architectural wonders from monasteries to palaces that are home to tile collections, important libraries and beautiful and vast botanical gardens.
Our Flex learning adventures offer more flexible schedules than our traditional programs, with ample independent time and several meals on your own. Enjoy the camaraderie of the group while also getting time to explore on your own.
