Program Registration. After you have your room assignment, come over to the Road Scholar desk to register with the program staff and get your welcome packet containing your name-tag, up-to-date schedule that reflects any last-minute changes, other important information, and to learn when and where the Orientation session will take place. If you arrive late, please ask for your packet when you check in. Orientation. The Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule and any changes, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. This program is staffed with two Group Leaders, who will accompany us throughout the program, and two Study Leaders— Dan Mulvenna and Nigel West — who will lecture and serve as information resources on program-related topics. We will typically have one or two lectures in the morning and one or two most afternoons, after which the remainder of the day and evening will be free. Most dinners are on your own (excluded from the program price) to enjoy what you like. This is a Road Scholar INDEPENDENT program. It is designed for participants who want high-level Road Scholar instruction, a few group activities, and who are capable and comfortable setting out on their own for a significant part of the day/night. There will be several hours each day of educational content, a number of meals on your own (excluded from the program cost) to enjoy what you like, and substantial free time for personal independent exploration. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions. Program activities, schedules, personnel, and indicated distances or times may change due to local conditions/circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Following Orientation, we’ll enjoy a reception with soft drinks, beer, and wine.
In the hotel, we will have a plated and served 3-course dinner with soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee, tea, water included; other beverages available for purchase.
At leisure. Continue getting to know your fellow Road Scholars, settle in, and get a good night’s rest for the day ahead.
