The Revolutionary War was made to come alive with presentations from Ben Franklin, a Revolutionary War Surgeon, a Minuteman, and a reenactment historian. The group leader fleshed-out George Washington, and I realized what an incredibly great man he was with skill and luck on his side.

This program took me to places I might never have chosen myself, but combined with the presentations they created many insights and perspectives I had not considered. Our leader, Mitch Kramer, created a vivid sense of who the key people were, what they were like, and how they lived and died. His enthusiasm for this period and its people was infectious - he re-connected me with my own passion for the American revolution.

The American Revolution from Philadelphia to Trenton was my first trip with Road Scholar and I found it to be an excellent one to begin with. Not only did I learn much more about our country's history, but I also learned a great deal about a city I have always wanted to visit. This tour has made me want to learn more and keep traveling with Road Scholar as well as revisit Philadelphia. I highly recommend this tour and Road Scholar!

This was an educational and entertaining program. Our group leader Mitchell Kramer did an excellent job. I particularly enjoyed the Ben Franklin presentation, the visits to Valley Forge, Washington Crossing and the Old Barracks in Trenton. The week flew by. I highly recommend this program if you have an interest, whether as a beginner or a more serious student of the Revolution. Hotel was fine, meals were good, level of activity was good. My only suggestion for improvement would be more time at Valley Forge National Historic Park.

As an introduction to the history of the beginning of the United States of American Revolutionary War, this is the best program I can imaging. Philly is a great city with great people.
