I am so happy to have been included in this trip: Christmas in Savannah. As a first time participant in a Road Scholar trip I didn't know how things move and groove. I was again a lucky member of this particular group of fabulous people. Our leader, Beverly Citron, was experienced with all facets of the travel industry; from coordinating the tiniest detail of bringing us a gift on the holiday to sharing her personality to make our trip seem effortless. She is to be commended for her excellence. I chose Savannah as it has been a "Must-See" place for me for many years. I was stunned by the lecture people and their knowledge. Amazed by the places we were able to visit at this time of year. How can you beat Bonaventure Cemetery at Christmas!? It was fantastic! And to be serenaded by the trio of Kim, Alisha and Dave was a musical treat. I loved the tours through the school, the synagogue, the churches, the streets and the homes. Everyone in our group was considerate and cool to be around. Many brought their own questions and thoughts which added to my learning experience. I felt like I was at Adult Camp. I got to go on trolleys, a carriage, a bus, a boat (not my favorite) and walk. We walked and it felt so good to be walking through the history books. From the architecture to the scandalous stories, I loved hearing the facts and fables of this unique city. I must admit my knowledge of the southeast is pathetic, and this trip gave me a new understanding of a world I did not know existed. I want to thank Road Scholar for offering this opportunity to me. I have told everyone I know how great it was. So kudos to all who put this trip together as it was outstanding in every respect. The hotel location was prime. The DeSoto did an excellent service to us all. The food was well thought out and executed. And as I have said over and over, this was quite a fun learning experience that I get to have for the rest of my life!

Beverely was wonderful! She went out of her way to accommodate guests and handled herself as a professional. The trip was interesting and had enough variety to keep it interesting.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy our Christmas in Savannah experience. The program provided a huge variety of experiences: trolley tours, paddleboat, tours, food, exception lectures, and organized leadership. If you have a Christmas available, I would highly recommend going to Savannah with Road Scholars.

If you have not been to Savannah, this trip is a nice way to experience an historic town with history behind it. The boat trip and carriage ride were my favorite parts of this trip. The interesting group of participants were also a big addition to a wonderful Christmas get a way. One thing I do not care for is a heavy dinner later at night. It would be better for seniors to have something lighter at night but many don't even eat a dinner (night meal) so mid day or other later in the evening would suffice. The hotel was not accomodating and there were many dogs there because it was the only hotel that allowed them. dogs barking in a room next to mine was quite annoying. We lived and that is the main thing. Our tour guide was wonderful.

Savannah is a beautiful city and a Road Scholar journey is a great way to learn about the history, to enjoy some great Southern food, and to learn about and hear the music of Johny Mercer.

Excellent orientation to a beautiful historic city. Hotel location to accommodate our large group was inconvenient and outside area of interest. Go with a small group staying inside historic area instead.

This was an enjoyable way to spend Christmas. Savannah is a lovely historical city, easy to walk around in the Historic District and plenty of things to see and do. There are also plenty of nice restaurants in the area within walking distance. The weather was so nice. Glad we finally got to do this trip.

Savannah is a beautiful, walkable, city, and this trip presents it to good advantage with a variety of subjects and entertaining lectures, tours, theater experiences, and musical performances. Well worth the trip.

I highly recommend this program as a way to spend the Christmas holiday. This is by far the best Christmas I have had as an adult.

This is a delightful program with lots of varied experiences. I especially enjoyed the horse-drawn carriage and trolley rides around the squares, both with narrations. Also, the Tybee Lighthouse visit and live Christmas show at the Savannah Theater were outstanding, in my opinion. I loved every minute!
