Few things have the enticing allure of spending New Years Eve in Paris. Pair that with an extra few days to tour the city with an amazing group leader (shout out to Libby!) and you have the Road Scholar program that my friend and I experienced recently.
The sites and museums were lead by local experts who were knowledgeable and interesting. We were treated to the holiday decorations and lights with bus rides throughout the city as well as a boat ride on the Seine, experiencing all the excitement of the entire holiday season! The food was amazing!
This was my 8th RS trip and the 8th Group Leader who has exceeded my expectations — and at this point, my expectations are really high! Thank you, Libby. I don’t know how RS continues to select the perfect group leaders for their trips but I hope they keep this level of excellence. I just booked my 9th trip!

This was a spectacular trip. Our tour guide Libby Chandler was excellent and had her hands full with people opting for taxis, or their own side trips. But she kept track of all of us and got us safely and entertainingly to all our planned activities. I am recommending this to all my friends..
Well done. My only suggestion is that the music on the final night boat ride was too loud for us to have conversations. But I do not think you can control that. The food was excellent and the onboarding and off boarding went smoothly.
Also, I can not say enough good thinks about the excellent bus drivers.

Excellent program! Libby is a terrific group leader. The pacing is perfect for a New Year’s Eve program, with some independent time, as well as some down time. Our group had 20 compatible and fun-loving participants. Be aware that the program is rated as “Let’s Go” and the use of the Paris Metro as the main source of transportation necessitates the use of multiple sets of stairs each day, both up and down. Additionally, there is lots of walking. The hotel is clean and comfortable with a very good breakfast buffet. The meals included were excellent, especially and surprisingly on the dinner cruise on the Seine. All in all, a great program and an excellent way to spend New Year’s Eve and a few days before and after.

Great way to begin the New Year! I was in Paris many years ago and it was great to see some places again, along with various new things and activities. Our group leader Caroline was terrific. I chose this trip based on past reviews, and I was not disappointed!

Take this trip! Paris for New Year's was magical. As a first time Road Scholar participant, I am so happy I chose this as my first trip. It will not disappoint.

I have been on 9 RS trips. I loved this program. The guide was excellent, attentive to detail, and knew a lot about Paris, and taught us to use the metro. The food was excellent, the celebrations were lighthearted. All in all, a wonderful experience. We did walk about 10,000 steps a day; however, the sidewalks are great in Paris!

Excellent trip. From the train from London to Paris it was all good! Interesting activities that kept us moving. Caroline our guide was excellent. The very best knowledge and inside info. Very personable. Great hotel and good location in the city. The group was smaller making for ease of getting places and doing things. A shame we did not get to the Louvre, but it gives a chance to go back. Excellent rating.

Paris & New Year's--a perfect trip. Once again (this was my 4th trip) Road Scholar provided a great itinerary, a superb program instructor, and gave me experiences that remain with me. I enjoyed meeting other travelers, and always feel a part of the group as a solo traveler. Because Road Scholar always provides wonderful experiences, I have another RS trip in April.

The Paris over New Years was very well organized and great fun. As a solo traveler for the first time, I highly recommend Road Scholar trips. The guides are very informatiove and very helpful. I loved the auditory headsets we wore- we never missed an opportunity to learn!

The organization of the trip was superb. Road Scholar made all the arrangements, adjusting as needed due to the holiday activity in Paris.
I am astounded at the value of the trip. What we received in way of accommodations, transportation, tour selection, group meals were above and beyond any of my expectations especially for the price of the trip.
I don’t remember a trip I have taken where I I have enjoyed the company of the other members as much as I have this group. Many of us knew no one else on the trip when we arrived but left as friends with hopes to travel together again.
My highest praise though goes to the tour guides as experts to guide us through the art museums. The tour leader was excellent in every sense of the word. She was knowledgeable, friendly, organized, and flexible as needed. I would travel with her again in a heartbeat.

Great way to ring is the New Year and see the finest sights of Paris. Always wanted to go just for a few days, and this was perfect! Loved that it included some flex/free time and our tour guide Caroline was wonderful.
