The transfer to Fort William is 144 miles, approximately 4 hours driving time.
In the hotel, we’ll have a breakfast buffet. This will include things such as a variety of eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, yoghurts, cereals, porridge, toast, jams and marmalade, juices, water, tea and coffee.
We will check out of the hotel and transfer via mini coach to Fort William. Leaving Edinburgh towards Stirling, we’ll pass by Stirling Castle – high atop an ancient volcanic crag. Our Group Leader will tell us about its fascinating history as we pass, heading deep into the Highlands. We’ll pass many beautiful lochs as we wind our way through the Highlands including Loch Lubnaig, Tulla, Bai and Linnhe.
En route, we will stop at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel where we will have a plated and served meal with coffee, tea, water; other beverages available for purchase.
Our transfer to Fort William continues over the stunning Rannoch Moor. Once we arrive at the hotel you will have time to check-in and relax before dinner. There will be the option to do some last minute walking gear shopping or a short excursion to Inverlochy Castle.
In the hotel we’ll have a plated and served 3-course meal with coffee, tea and water; other beverages available for purchase.
We’ll gather in the hotel after dinner for a briefing on walking and hiking in the Highlands. Everything you need to know about traversing this beautiful, rugged landscape will be covered and any burning questions you may have will be answered. The remainder of the evening is at leisure to relax and get a good night’s rest before our first day of hiking.
