A good introduction to Sardinia's archeology, history, and culture. The island is beautiful. Excellent visits to working farms and shops. A vigorous program. Take seriously the 3-star rating for difficulty level!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Road Scholar tour to Sardinia. My group was small and we all got along quite well; in addition, we enjoyed a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Group Leader and a stunning island.

Wonderful trip to an extraordinary island. Lots of variety in 3000 years of history. Beaches, mountains, archeological sites, small villages, farms, museums, churches and castles. Lots of places you have never heard of but are worthy of exploration. Highly recommend this tour!

Stunning Sardinia with Fabulous Fabio was Monumetally Memorable. In more than 20 years of travel with Road Scholar, this experience is at the top for me with a perfect combination of professional leader, well-planned itinerarly, quality accommodations, and exquisite cuisine. All in a part of Italy that hasn't yet attracted the mass tourism that haunts the rest of the country. Sardinia is splendid and serene as well as stunning.

"Brave men lived before Agamemnon." We just don't know who they were. This Sardinia trip introduces you to the mysterious Nuragic civilization, likely tone source of the "Sea Peoples" who bedeviled Egypt in the 2nd millennium BC. Who knew? And that's just the beginning of a fascinating 3000 year survey of a place, a culture, a pastoral diet, and an unfamiliar history -- Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Italian, Spanish.

One of three recent Road Scholar trips to the Mediterranean which were spectacularly successful because of the ability of the tour leader to present superbly the amazing places visited. In addition to Sardinia, the other two trips were Sicily and Morocco.

Stunning Sardinia was an amazing experience. Our wonderful group leader Paola led us on a thorough, fun, exciting trip through cities, small towns, ancient ruins, beautiful coasts, pristine beaches and interior mountains -- while visiting shepherds, cheesemakers, weavers, and others all around the Island. Paola's energy and experience as a local who knows every inch of the Island certainly enhanced the trip. I really feel as if I know and understand the history and current culture of Sardinia. It is a beautiful and interesting place. And great food and wine!

Wow! This was my first Road Scholar trip, and I cannot imagine a better tour experience than this. Our excellent local guide, Paola, enriched us with her insider knowledge and personal local connections to give us special unique experiences -- from meeting with a one-of-a-kind sea silk weaver, to enjoying Nuragic traditional foods, a meal and music from shepherds near Orgosolo, an all-day boat tour of gorgeous islands and beaches of La Maddalena Archipelago, archaeological ruins, specialized cultural, historical museums, cities, forest, country-side, coast, and more. Our trusty bus driver, Paolo, navigated us safely and in style in our comfortable coach bus. The combination of Paola and Paolo are unbeatable! Stellar guides to unforgettable Sardinia, I loved this magical tour!

Sardinia has it all; ancient ruins, lively hip cities, singing shepherds, and beautiful Emerald Coast. The archeology museum in Cagliari will change your perception of ancient people.

This trip ranks among the top of the ten trips I have taken with Road Scholar. Sardinia is a beautiful part of Italy with a fascinating history and culture. Our very personable and well-informed guide, Paola, brought the island to life and our driver, Marcello, navigated our coach impeccably. The scenery was beautiful and I liked the itinerary and range of experiences. I highly recommend this tour!

The trip exceeded my expectations. I learned so much about the history of Sardinia, from the prehistoric to present day, its folkways, its political history and its culture in general. The fabulous food experiences are memorable and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Every day was a fun and exciting new experience. Our guide Paula is top-notch. She is the consummate tour guide. Our driver Marcello was helpful and keen. Loved it!

Paola was a fantastic guide--very knowledgeable because she is a native of Sardinia. Our driver was very adept at navigating the narrow Sardinian roads and took us to some additional out-of-the way spots adding to an already amazing tour of the unique cultural and historical sites of the Island. Accommodations and meals were excellent and the tour bus was very comfortable. I share with Paola the hope that the beautiful island of Sardinia will remain unspoiled, as I certainly hope to be back before too long. This was my first Road Scholar tour, and I really enjoyed the itinerary and my fellow traveling companions.

Paola (our guide) was absolutely amazing. The farmhouse meals were amazing. The history of Sardegna came alive for me this trip. If you can do this trip with Paola, go for it - it is completely unlike the chaos of Rome and/or other traditional sightseeing Italian tours.

What a great place to visit!! Exciting, beautiful, mysterious, & terrific food/wine- YAY! Our guide, Paola, was an amazing leader with encyclopedic knowledge of her home island. She went to bat for us in Algero at our hotel, to make sure we had breakfast buffet in the penthouse restaurant every morning to get the best view in town!!! We had a great time, with lovely weather & learned so many new things plus got to meet fun travelers along the way! The only change I would make is to have a day or two more for some free time to shop/beach/hang out along the way. LOVE SARDINIA!!!!
