If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Carlton Square Hotel in Haarlem

Start of Trip:  Start time: 3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 4:00 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner

Getting to the site: From Schiphol airport, take the Zuidtangent bus 300 in the direction of Haarlem CS. Get off bus at the Centrum/Verwulft stop which is located about half a mile from the Carlton Square Hotel. The bus runs frequently, at least every 15 minutes, 7 days a week. It takes approx. 50 minutes and costs approx. 10 Euro. Alternatively, take a taxi from the airport to the hotel (approx. 20 minutes, about 60 Euro).

Getting to the site by train or bus: Public transportation is available.

Your trip ends on: Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Amsterdam at Hotel Park Plaza Victoria

End of Trip: 10:00 a.m. after breakfast; 12:00 p.m. hotel check-out. Breakfast available depending on transfer time.

Getting to the airport: Take a taxi from the hotel to the airport. This will take about 30 minutes and cost approximately 50 Euro. Alternatively, you can take the train from the hotel to the airport. Walk from the hotel to the Amsterdam Central Station (about 1200 feet) and board the Intercity or Sprinter train to the airport. The train departs every 10 minutes and costs approximately 10 Euro.

Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
