We had a wonderful time. I'd always dreamed of visiting the Galapagos, and the islands lived up to that dream. Also, our guides were fabulous -- we will be looking for additional trips they lead.

My family had an amazing time in the Galapagos, non-stop activities every day! The grandparents sat out a few of the more rigorous activities (volcano hike, mtn biking), but otherwise most all activities were easy enough that our active parents could do. Such great quality time with the family. Everyone loved seeing all the animals. It's not a plush hotel experience though, and really active - so you've got to be fit to keep up with the packed schedule. We took my 2 teens, and the other family also had a teen. I wouldn't suggest the trip for little/elementary school-aged kids. The guides are great, and you feel like you're at camp with your group for the 9 days.

My 13 year old grandson and I traveled to the Galapagos with Road Scholar. It was our first trip together and we made lifelong memories. What a magical place and such knowledgeable and personable guides! The food was fantastic and the activities were just the right amount of challenge and beauty. I initially hesitated to sign up because I have always planned my own itinerary and was worried it might be restrictive, but I would travel with Road Scholar again in a heartbeat. I loved the lack of stress and the ease of doing way more than I could ever have done on my own!

This was a great trip. We saw so many animals - tortoises, iguanas, sea turtles, sharks, blue footed boobies, sea lions, penguins, and a lot more. We definitely kept busy all the time. The long hike was well worth it with great views of the caldera of the volcano, Sierra Negra. But it is 10 miles and the day we went the day was hot and sunny for the part of the hike on the lava and wet and muddy at the beginning of the hike. Bring enough water. The boat trips were rough so if anyone has problems with that they should bring sea sickness medicine. Snorkeling was fun and each time we saw so much. Galapagos Magic as a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the "tents" which each sleep 2. The tortoises were right outside our doors and the food was great! Be sure you are ready for multiple activities each day. There were 5 of us, my husband and I, my daughter and my granddaughter (17) and grandson (15). We all had a great time. Both of our guides were knowledgeable and did a great job organizing and leading all the activities. The reef runners (water shoes) were not needed on our trip. I'm not sure when Road Scholar thought we'd need them. Kayaking took off from sand beaches and snorkeling was done off the boats.
