General Notes

Our “Living and Learning” programs give you the experience of living in a foreign country independently. All participants will be enrolled in the Core Track which includes: an apartment in a residence hotel; a local Site Coordinator to support you; a few meals; a weekly expert-led field trip; one weekend-long excursion to Normandy, including hotel; a city handbook and public transit pass. Additionally, you may choose to add on the Culinary Track, the Language Track or both. The Culinary Track includes two afternoon activities each week. The Language Track includes classes five mornings a week and learning materials. We recommend that you choose either the Culinary Track or the Language Track. Enrolling in both tracks dramatically reduces the amount of Free Time available in your daily schedule. Additionally, it requires extensive use of the metro and public buses, which can be very fatiguing. Prices may vary depending on the educational track you choose. Go online or call for details. This program does not include airport transfers. Because of the special nature of this program, we request that you call us to enroll. Please call toll free at (800) 454-5768, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET. Current Events in Paris: Due to the fire at Notre Dame, the cathedral is closed to visitors. Road Scholar programs that visit île de la Cité will be able to see the outside of the cathedral, but we will not be able to go inside. Also, because of the ongoing “Yellow Jackets” protests in Paris, we may need to make last-minute changes to the itinerary to avoid visiting areas blocked by protesters.
