I recently went on a Road Scholar trip to Montana with my granddaughter, and it was an unforgettable experience. Both of us had an incredible time, especially in Glacier National Park, which was absolutely stunning. My granddaughter also overcame a lot of her fears, which made the trip even more special. A huge part of the trip’s success was thanks to our leaders, Josh and Melissa, who were fun, capable, and incredibly knowledgeable. They made the trip better than we could have imagined. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for adventure and beautiful scenery.

A very good trip with two grandsons - ages 10 and 8. This trip had four full days of activities which kept the grandsons busy each day. The trip was very kid-centric with most of the activities keeping the grandparents involved. The trip was fairly active, so we found it important for the grandparents to be reasonably in shape for walking and participating in the activities. We had 18 kids, 22 grandparents on our trip. About half of the kids were elementary school aged, 8, 9, 10. The rest were middle-school aged. The river rafting was clearly the hit of the week, but there were plenty of other activities that the kids enjoyed - building survival shelters in the woods, compass skills, aerial adventure, alpine slides, wetland nature investigations, etc. The hotel we stayed at - Red Lion Kalispell - was fine. It had an indoor pool which was used by most of the kids each evening. The hotel is very close (easy walking distance) to a grocery store with wine and beer, plus coffee shops, and a handful of fast food places. We "ate out" for dinner several times -- a pizza buffet at a local good pizza place -- the lodge restaurant at Lake McDonald Lodge where they gave us vouchers for any entree on the menu - and a hamburger/hot dog grilled dinner at the rafting company. The two other dinners were typical Road Scholar buffet dinners at the hotel. Our primary complaint for the trip was on the hour-plus long bus trips where the middle schoolers and the louder younger kids would congregate at the back of the big bus. They were loud. Many of the grandparents of these kids cleverly sat up front well away from their grandchildren, which meant some of the rest of us were subjected to a long bus trip with lots of noise. Note to self ... if your grandchildren aren't a part of that loud group, get to the bus early each morning and stake out seats near the front away from the noise. :- ) All in all, a very good trip !

The Glacier National Park trip with Grandkids and Grandparents via Road Scholars was exciting and educational - very satisfying. We were able to do active experiences like an aerial ropes/zipline course, white water rafting and an alpine slide as well as highly educational exercises such as viewing raptors such as eagles, hawks, falcons and owls very close up, a wetlands "bug searching" experiment, and outdoors lectures and practical exercises on shelter building, orienteering, plant identification, and predators in the Montana wilderness. Overall, a great experience for both the children and the grandparents.

This program was great fun for grandparents and the children alike. The inclusion of daily educational experiences along with fun active adventures was great. Plus having a pool in the hotel allowed for the children to interact casually every evening, encouraging relationships. Our group leader, Al Koss, was outstanding! I strongly recommend this program.

I value the opportunity I had to spend quality time with my granddaughters in a fun, educational program. All three of us stretched ourselves to try new things. I loved having someone else do all the planning to ensure a great trip.

I received seven priceless gifts from Road Scholar. Thanks to the Grandparent/Intergenerational programs, I was able to spend six days one-on-one with each of my seven Grandchildren at wonderful destinations throughout the USA. The trips were educational and fun! We met and bonded with other Grands and Grandparents! My seven Grandchildren and this Grandmother loved each and every trip! Thanks, for making these learning experiences so enjoyable and so affordable.

We were very happy with this program. The leaders were excellent, knowledgeable, and great with children. The activities were just the right amount of challenge both for the 8 to 12 year old and for the grandparents.

What a remarkable experience! Road Scholar provided the perfect setting and program to allow our New York City grandson and his Michigan grandparents all the time, lessons, challenges and fun we had hoped for. We highly recommend it as a way to meet families from all over the country and have the chance to explore together. Thank you

Of 6 inter generational trips I have taken with Road Scholar, this is clearly one of the best. Leadership was excellent, the activities were informative and fun, and the spectacular beauty of the park is second to none.
