Hebert Pérez Concepción
Born and raised in Cuba, Herbert Pérez Concepción was invited for one year stint in the United States in 1956. However, he ended up staying long enough to finish high school and college, graduating from Duke University in 1963. That year, he came back to Cuba and have ever since been teaching history at the University of Oriente. In 1991, he got a Ph.D. in history from the University of Havana. In addition to teaching, he has translated four books between Spanish and English.
