After you enroll, we’ll ask you to provide or update your personal information and preferences, which includes your health information, lodging and meal preferences for your program.
A passport is required for this program. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.
This information about travel documents pertains to participants holding U.S. passports. Non-U.S. citizens should refer to their country's requirements to ensure they have the necessary documentation for travel.

There is currently no proof of vaccination, COVID-19 passport/certificate or COVID-19 tests required to enter Croatia or Montenegro. Croatia and Montenegro do not have specific additional inoculations required for entry. However, the CDC recommends all visitors entering these countries to be up to date on their vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Measles, Chickenpox, Polio and the flu. We encourage all participants to discuss their travel plans and personal health with their health care provider prior to the program.
If Road Scholar is arranging your air travel to and from the program, and you travel on the scheduled start and end dates, you’ll receive free round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel.

Meet the group at Hotel Dubrovnik Zagreb in Zagreb
Start of Trip: 3:00 p.m. hotel check-in; 6:00 p.m. Orientation followed by Welcome Dinner.
Getting to the site: Taxis are available outside the ZAG Zagreb Airport to help you reach your program hotel. The journey should take approximately 30 minutes and cost you between 45 – 55 USD (45 – 55 €). Only a handful of taxis accept credit cards, so please be sure to exchange money to EUR before your departure from the airport. For a public transportation alternative to your hotel, you may take the official airport bus shuttle to the main bus station in Zagreb. This shuttle can be found right outside of the arrivals terminal and departs every 30 minutes between the hours of 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM. This journey should take you 30 minutes and cost you 7 USD (7 €) per person. Payment can be done onboard in cash. Once you reached main bus station you can take tram number 6 in direction Crnomerec, and get off on the fifth stop Trg J.Jelacica. This journey should take you 12 minutes and cost you between 1 – 2 USD (0.8 – 1.99 €) per person. NOTE: Road Scholar is allowing participants who purchased their own airfare to join one of the existing transfers from the airport to the first hotel of the program. Please contact the program provider by email only at rsbalkansprograms@roadscholar.org or contact@roadscholar.org, no later than FOUR WEEKS prior to your program start date and inform them of your program number, name, and arrival flight information to see if you can be accommodated in one of the existing transfers. If you do not reach out, or if you reach out after the four-week mark or OR YOUR FLIGHT is arriving to Zagreb airport after all existing transfers we have, it will be your responsibility to make arrangements to the hotel using the information above. The arrival airport transfer needs to be booked in advance, and you cannot join a transfer on site without prior notice as we have organized group transfers only with the different size of the vehicles depending of the number of participants on Road Scholar pre booked flights and only for Road scholar pre booked flight schedule.

End of Trip: 4:30 a.m. for earliest transfers to airport. Transfers continuing through the day depending on flight departure times. 12:00 p.m. hotel check-out. Breakfast available depending on your transfer time.
Getting to the airport: Taxis to the DBV Dubrovnik Airport are available from your program hotel. The journey should take approximately 45 minutes and cost you between 80 – 100 USD (80 – 100 €). Taxis will not accept credit cards, so be sure to exchange money to EUR before your departure from the hotel. Please consider that this journey includes a border crossing from Montenegro (non-EU) into Croatia (EU), so be prepared for possible time delays. There is a possibility that you may have to change vehicles at the border, so be prepared to carry your luggage across the border and change cars. Our local vendor can also assist in booking a private transfer for this commute. If you are interested in booking a private transfer, please contact Belavista Trend Travel directly through email at belavistatrend@t-com.me and request a quote. Inform them that you are a Road Scholar participant, state your program number and date, and provide them with your flight information as well as desired pick up time at the hotel. Payment can be done via electronic transfer or in cash in person upon pick-up. If you will be paying in person, please be sure that it is in EUR Euros. Note: Since this transfer includes a border crossing, Road Scholar is allowing participants who purchased their own airfare to join one of the existing group transfers to the airport at the end of the program. Please contact the program provider by email only at rsbalkansprograms@roadscholar.org or contact@roadscholar.org no later than FOUR WEEKS prior to your program start and inform them of your program number, name, and departure flight information to see if we can accommodate you into one of the existing transfers. If you do not reach out or you reach out after the four week mark or if your flight is earlier or much latter then any existing group transfers we have, it will be your responsibility to make arrangements to the airport using the information above.
Information if you are purchasing your own airfare: Participants who have not purchased airfare through Road Scholar are responsible for making their own transfer arrangements to the first site at the beginning of the program, as well as from the last site at the end of the program. The Information Packet Road Scholar sends in advance of the program includes details needed to make your transfer arrangements. If you wish to purchase airfare through Road Scholar, please call (800) 241-1404. Please note: In the unlikely event Road Scholar must make changes to the program's arrival or departure details, we will notify all participants as soon as possible. Participants who have purchased Road Scholar airfare are protected against airline change fees; however, anyone who has not purchased Road Scholar airfare will be required to make their own adjustments and may incur fees imposed by the airline.
