What a wonderful experience to Maine's Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island! The excursions were refreshing and delightful, and group leaders were exceptional. Fabulous way to learn about a state I had not visited before.

This trip was chock full of very enjoyable, historical, anecdotal, and nature-forward information and experiences you will only find in the Bar Harbor/Acadia area. You could not plan this type of trip on your own. Leave the planning to Glenn and his team for an unforgettable time!

Over many years my wife and I have done 29 Road Scholar programs. This was one of the best for us. Highly recommended.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Acadia/Mount Desert Island Program, our first Road Scholar trip. The owner and staff of the local company that ran our Program were all excellent and provided us with so much of what we were hoping for from this trip. Would recommend highly!

This program packs a lot of interesting information and beautiful scenery in a short period of time. There is a wide diversity of activities which, combined with the presentations, gives a great history of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Bar Harbor is truly a treasure! I left knowing so much more of the history and would love to go back to do some hiking and kayaking.

Wonderful getaway for our group ( 4 girlfriends) Laughed, cried, ate good food, listened to music and came away smarter! This is the only way to travel ...you can't beat learning and hiking!

My trip to Mount Desert island and Acadia National Park was delightful! I learned a lot about the region and enjoyed meeting our group participants. I really learned a lot about lobster industry and greatly enjoyed the presentation. Our sightseeing tour on the Sea Princess was fun! We had the chance to explore one of the Cranberry Islands and continued cruising. It was an enlightening tour of the region!

About forty years ago, I became aware of Acadia National Park, "where the mountains meet the sea." I decided then and there that someday I would visit the park. And thanks to Road Scholar, I have finally fulfilled my lifelong dream!

What a great trip! It was well balanced with lecture time, physical activity and free time. Our tour guides Tracy and Paul were phenomenal. I came home with a wonderful appreciation of the history and the people of the area. The highlights of the trip for me were expert lectures on the lobster industry by Glenn, the granite museum with Stephen and the harbor boat tour to the Cranberry Islands. Wonderful seafood.

If you've never been to Maine but always wanted to go, as I did - this is the trip to take. I was amazed by the diversity of nature on Mt. Desert Island. Another great RS trip!

Having been to Newport, RI to tour the cottages there, this program opened my eyes to a new location where the wealthy vacationed at the last turn of the century, and why they went there. The early conservation and naturalist work of Dorr and Eliot were precursors to work done later in the century.

Despite the "iffy" weather and the COVID unknowns, this trip was a valuable one! Safety was a priority and the group leaders handled everything well with flexibility and compassion. The actual tour was fabulous - plenty of opportunities to learn and experience the New England Gem with those of like mind. I especially enjoyed the antique postcard presentation with historical timeline as well as the Granite Museum tour (unique and so passionate!!) and the hike at Sieur de Monte Spring (despite the rain!). Many thanks to Glen, Linda and Paul (as well as all of the guest lecturers/guides) for their leadership, guidance and humor in creating and implementing this trip!

What a great program! Leaders were so friendly and knowledgeable. When rain threatened to cancelled one activity, the leaders rearranged the day and maybe made plan B even better than the original. Road Scholar does not disappoint!
