From rugged coastlines to inland trails, experience the signature fall foliage and unspoiled wonder of Maine firsthand. Throughout scenic Washington County, Registered Maine Guides lead vigorous hikes over rocky coastlines, into woodlands and around beautiful lake shores, sharing their knowledge of this unique environment. View ancient petroglyphs and hunt for fossils, keep your eyes peeled for deer, moose, fox, eagle and osprey and sample the rich cultural heritage of Fundy Bay during field trips.

  • Hike the spectacular trails of West Quoddy Head State Park and enjoy a visit to the West Quoddy Head Light, the easternmost point of land in the US.
  • Explore the Canadian Maritime Islands of Head Harbor Passage aboard a working lobster boat, the Pier Pressure, and encounter porpoise, seals, and hopefully whales.

U.S. passport is required to enter Canada for our visit to Campobello Island.

Kyle Pepperman graduated from the University of Maine at Machias in May 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in marine biology and a minor in chemistry. He is currently working to raise soft-shell clams for research, outreach, and stock enhancement purposes. In addition, he is responsible for the hatchery work on blue mussel broodstock conditioning, larval-rearing, and post-larval production associated with a project funded through the National Science Foundation and the University of Maine System.
