At a Glance

The Oregon Festival of American Music and Road Scholar Songsters chorus will celebrate the robust, resilient and knock-dead melodies of Tin Pan Alley, Broadway’s Musical Comedy Era and the Golden Age of Hollywood. OFAM returns to a 2-week format, and the Songsters will help kick it off by leading a public sing-along and entertaining a concurrent Road Scholar program and the audience ahead of the Saturday night concert. Composers and musicians covered will be the likes of the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Bing Crosby, Richard Rodgers, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mercer (to name just a few). The Songsters program includes attendance at 6 different OFAM concerts plus rehearsals and special guest presentations.
