Road Scholar keeps you connected before, during and after the program. It was very helpful.

Excellent trip, you will learn a lot about the Berkshires and its culture. Tanglewood experience was top notch, as were the other events, like Wharton house, the Botanical Garden and seeing Mousetrap and Romeo & Juliet at local theaters.

This is a dynamic and interesting program. As a retired military officer, my experience in this area was limited. The presentations were great and helped my learn. I hope to learn more in other programs.

We really enjoyed this program, more than we expected! We had originally hoped to do the Tanglewood BSO only program but were too late signing up and took this as a second choice. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of excellent topic specialists and experiences. The hotel was comfortable and a change for us to stay in one place on a RS tour, instead of packing up every couple of days. Definitely recommend.

This was my 20th Road Scholar program. The first one was on Cape Cod where we now live. We have also been to Canada and Mexico. On foot, bus and across Canada by train. My wife and I love the organization and will continue to attend.

This is an exciting program full of first-rate arts experiences backed up by informative and illuminating talks. My fellow travelers were interesting, intelligent, and nice. The leader was fabulous. I've gone on this trip three times now; the latest was the best!

This is a great trip to attend cultural events in the Summer Berkshires. A ton of stuff packed into four full days. Summer Stock Theater, Dance, BSO at Tanglewood, Museums, etc. Seeing the Boston Philharmonic rehersal was a mind opening experience.

Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival was a marvelous mix of theatre, dance, music and art, for those who enjoy an immersive cultural experience. There is nothing quite as awe inspiring as an outdoor dance performance with a backdrop of the beautiful Berkshires. Don't miss it!

A wonderful immersion into the Berkshires' venues of art, dance, and music. Participants were a friendly bunch. We ourselves might have enjoyed a bit more about the region's history and literature, not to mention the neighboring Williams College.

If you enjoy what the Berkshires have to offer but do want to bother with the logistics and obtaining tickets, then this trip is for you.

I would give this program mixed reviews. The actual performances, especially the dancers at Jacob's Pillow, were superb and being pleasantly surprised by a snippet of rehearsal music from James Taylor and YoYo Ma only added positively to the experience.
Unfortunately,, this wonderful musical experience was clouded over by Alex's severe hearing loss over the years made worse by a recent bout with Covid. We found this was taken lightly and we were almost told to take care of the problem ourselves.
In our local theater, for a musical , headsets are available. There was nothing like this for the play and I could see the total frustration on his face. Surely, given the average age of a Road Scholar, this can be a problem and should be addressed before the program begins.
The staff at the Fairfield Inn was very accommodating and helpful. Some days, the food was not great---too many box lunches.
Traveling on the bus was great---wonderful driver and so competent.
Sorry to have to give this a negative review but perhaps it's time for us to stop traveling with Road Scholar. i know it's not all your fault!

Spectacular program! Being able to spend time and see world-class performances at Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow, with enough free time to visit several of the other attractions in the area was a dream come true.

This trip exceeded my expectations! Not just in the offerings but in the artists who performed the music. Emanuel Ax playing Chopin's Piano Concerto #2! It doesn't get any better than this.
Our trip was loosely organized by day/type of cultural offering: theater, visual arts museum, dance, symphonic, and quartet music.
Norman Rockwell Museum
Shakespeare & Co Theater - Much Ado About Nothing
Jacob's Pillow - Dance: Music From The Sole by Leonardo Sandoval & Gregory Richardson; Psalm by Jose Limon
Boston Symphony Orchestra - Wagner's Prelude to Lohengrin Act 1, Emanuel Ax playing Chopin's Piano Concerto #2 Opus 21, Rachmaninoff - Symphonic Dances opus 45; all conducted by Karina Canellakis.
Closed rehearsals of Andris Nelsons conducting Still, Walker, and Brahms. Brahms's Piano Concerto #2 played by Seong-Jin Cho was fascinating. I really like seeing the musicians interacting and rehearsing casually.
An interview with Dramatic Soprano Christine Goerke was also very interesting and informative.
Our instructors were tops in their field: J. Peter Bergman, Theater Critic; Andrea Borack, former Dancer and Dance Instructor; Teresa Neff, Music Professor and Instructor at MIT.
And our Tour Manager was stellar - Tari Intardonato
I look forward to many more Road Scholar experiences!

This is a very well run program, with interesting lectures to support the activities. The lecturers are all very well versed in their topics, and are experienced leaders who are interested in their areas of expertise. The leader is experienced in holding the group together while attending to individual requests and needs. I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in music, dance and theatre!
