Ed is a gifted teacher and the setting is lovely.

I enjoyed this "boot camp" very much. The personable instructor Edward chose useful and interesting topics for the lessons, and then supplied hands for us to play that allowed us to get the hang of the topic. I enjoyed enough repetition to ensure that the information could sink in, spirited discussion and questions, stories, (kind) critiques, and open bridge time. Hotel was very high quality. Meals were high quality with varied choices. The Road Scholar organizer Ginger was extremely helpful, providing information and arranging various activities that allowed us to experience the island.

My husband and I are both life masters with ACBL. I teach bridge and he directs and manages our community bridge club. We came expecting that I would get a new idea or two for teaching and perhaps improve some aspect of our game. After each lesson we both felt Ed far exceeded our goals and presented the material that enriched our knowledge and did so in a lively, humorous presentation. We would recommend this course to anyone who wants to grow their game!

Loved the venue and the other participants. Was concerned that my bridge level was lower than other participants, (it was but I never once felt intimidated or condescended to by the other participants or the instructor)

I really enjoyed the program and Jekyll Island. I was a bit disappointed in that there were so few participants, and most were at a level below that which was recommended. But the instructor was great. We didn't get our nature walk, which I was really looking forward to, because of some sort of mix-up in the scheduling. This should have been rescheduled for later in the week, or on the last day. Also, the visit to the turtle rescue facility is really geared to young children. I would recommend substituting something of historical interest. In addition, I had to miss the hotel tour because I wanted to take a dolphin watching boat trip and the Friday morning was my only opportunity. It would have been nice if this could have been scheduled for in-between time on of of the other days, rather than Friday morning.
Several people were dissatisfied with some of the meals. I thought they were generally acceptable (some even quite good), except for one dinner where the entree choices were either pork (which I don't eat) and a rather greasy-looking fried eggplant dish.

The program, Fun Way to Serious Bridge, was well organized, and I learned several new concepts. The lecturer and the program leader were engaging and well prepared. The hotel was lovely, the food very good, and the excursions interesting. I would definitely recommend this program.

fabulous in every way - teacher, accommodations, food & bridge players all great in my opinion!!!
not sure why i never received a "review request", but my other friends from Minnesota said they received an allowance because of some complaints
I did not receive a review request even though I called & requested one 2 weeks ago...
am I entitled to some compensation???
thank you,
