If you arrive late, please locate your Group Leader and let them know you have arrived.
Dinner: In a private banquet room at the hotel.
Evening: Orientation. The Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer questions. We’ll also discuss arrangements for getting to/from the golf club, renting its clubs, and getting back to the hotel at the end of the day. Small group golf instruction typically involves 8-10 participants. The number of courses we will be able to play each day will depend on tournaments or other club activities at the time of the program. We’ll use passenger vans getting to the Jekyll Island Golf Clubhouse. We will start each day at the Clubhouse and then walk from one teaching station to the next. Golf rounds after lunch will be assigned by the Jekyll Island Golf Pro to one of three 18-hole courses. Periods in the daily schedule designated as “Free time” and “At leisure” offer opportunities to do what you like and make your experience even more meaningful and memorable according to your personal preferences. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions. Program activities, schedules, personnel, and indicated distances or times may change due to local circumstances/conditions. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Continue getting to know your fellow Road Scholars, settle in, and get a good night’s rest for the day ahead.
