It was marvelous. Elizabeth was excellent. For a first Road Scholar adventure, it was all I expected and much more. Looking for next trip

Healing Arts in Sedona was a double gift with excellent programs and presenters, and also an amazing, meditative, spiritual, healing community of Sedona. A true "bubble" of unique calm and beauty. I'm so glad I got to meet local people, and participants from around the country. It met expectations and more.

Road Scholar does a great job of presenting quality programs. This is my second, and I have already enrolled in my third!

This, my fifth Road Scholar trip, was disappointing. It was not as shown in the video and did not live up to my expectations. Other women on the tour were pleased. If you are interested in much newer age thinking beside practicing ancient arts you might like it.
The positives: Cheryl aka Cherlita and her newbie helper were enthusiastic and cared for individual needs. They were open to our critiques at the conclusion of the program as we all did joint problem solving. The yoga, nutrition and Qi Gong instructors were wonderful as was the entertainer on the last evening. The folks who opened their homes to us were delightful for the most part. The hotel was lovely and had musicians in the evening. It was nice to have free laundry facilities. The extra restaurant meals were tasty. The scenery is remarkable to this Michigander. The shuttle from PHX to hotel was good and comfortable. Meeting caring, wonderful women was the highlight.
The negatives: Too much time was spent indoors. We could have had an exercise class outside or in the pool. We only had two yoga, one Qi Gong and one short nutrition sessions. More, please. Please buy yoga mats, Road Scholar! The towels were slippery. We did NOT go on a hike, hear a park ranger talk or do art. I think we all would have been happy to bring coloring pencils, etc. as the views were stunning especially at sunset and drawing and coloring are soothing to the soul. Three hours at the Canyon Momma session was arduous and not needed. She seemed more focused on her journey than on ours. Transportation into the city of Sedona or to spots to take tours is limited. There are a few taxi’s from the hotel. You might consider renting a car. The spa is quite expensive. There could have been healthier choices of breakfast foods although that bacon was delish. Tips for hotel staff were not included as they were on my sixth Road Scholar trip. I just returned from Winter in Andalucia.
Happy travels!

It was an amazing experience. Each instructor was professional and knowledgeable . Charlista was very personable and helpful to your needs. The food was delicious and plentiful. The weather could have been warmer with sunshine. But, I had a self care spa treatment for a week,
So well organized and planned,
Thanks for the memories,
Patty

The location is beautiful and the classes interesting. There were a couple that I did not like, but never felt bad leaving the class if it wasn’t my thing. The Ayurveda and Enneagram classes were my favorite topics/instructors.

I highly recommend this program for any woman who is on a journey to develop tools in order to heal, and continue to evolve in mind, body and spirit.

This was my first Road Scholar trip after decades of more strenuous adventure travel, and I enjoyed it so much that I found myself looking for similar trips the day after I returned home. You know the feeling you get when you wake up in the middle of a good dream and want it to continue? This trip was that kind of feeling. While the meditations focused on ways to stay in the 'here and now,' I found myself energized during the trip by a taste of topics that I want to to pursue further in the future. The love and laughter and sharing and caring of this supportive and non-competitive group and the beauty of the Sedona remain in my heart after the trip, making this a memory I will cherish. Cherlita is an outstanding leader, and the 90 year old in our group was an inspiration for healthy living. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and loved a lot about this program, and am looking forward to continuing friendships with women from this group. For those who are able, I would strongly encourage getting up early for a sunrise walk/hike to experience the beauty of Sedona ... although a leisurely breakfast with a great group of women is also a good option!

Sedona's Healing Arts for Women exceeded my expectations. This was my first Road Scholar trip and first visit to Sedona. I loved both! The leader, speakers, participants, and the beauty of Sedona made for a wonderful week.

Learned new things about healing arts that I can apply; and am inspired to learn more about back at home. The group of women was fantastic, welcoming and comfortable for me as a solo traveller. The workshop pace moved along.

Sedona’s Healing Arts for Women was a week of learning, gentle exercises and conversation. Each day had a balanced mixture of interesting speakers and exercises. Accommodations were made for different levels of physical abilities; be it chairs for yoga or a rousing morning hike. A few of us brought our own yoga mats, but no special equipment or exercise clothing is needed. All participants knew each other’s name by the end of the first full day and we were delighted to hear each other’s stories and share experiences. There were a few good friends and a pair of sisters, but most participants came alone and everyone was friendly. The speakers provided thought provoking introductions to a variety of wellness subjects and/or exercise methods. The Hilton provided a resort experience with most of the group getting assigned a one-bedroom suite. The hotel provided a variety of meals, including pasta, chicken, fish, beef and vegetarian dishes. The deserts provided were delicious, including brownies, cannolis, ice-cream with caramel sauce and lemon tarts. If you bring warmth, good humor, comfortable clothes and a great attitude then Cherlita, the knowledgeable and friendly facilitator, will make sure you come home in a better state than when you left.

This was my first Road Scholar program and it was every bit and more than i had heard about from previous participants in one or more of the many programs available. These trips are so well run and there is a trip, it seems, for every persons interest and desire. My Sedona experience was perfect for me, and my health at this time!!!!

Every woman should treat herself to this program--it is inspirational! The program leader Cherlita is outstanding as were the presenters. And the women in our group were the best--each and everyone were a delight to be with it and the whole experience was absolutely wonderful !

This is my third third experience in 10 years time with Sedona healing women in the arts. It is a wonderful rewarding experience. Some of the things are the same, some are different. Always a great group of wonderful encouraging women. Cherylita is the best coordinator that there is. She makes you feel at home ,she let you know everything that is happening in advance.
It is a retreat for the body and mind.
