How Road Scholar Supports Older Adults in Your Community

Do you want to bring topics like art, science, history and world cultures to your community? Our online lectures are typically one-hour long and led by expert instructors from around the world, followed by interactive Q&A sessions. While individual tuition for these lectures typically costs $25, we waive this fee for our community partners who show the lectures in a group setting — our way of making shared educational experiences more accessible to all. 

Our Age Well With Road Scholar lecture series focuses on the physical and social dimensions of aging and later life — a perfect resource for helping older adults stay informed, inspired and connected. These lectures are available in two ways: 

• For community organizations: These lectures can be shown in a group setting, sparking conversation and connection among participants.
• For individuals at home: Lifelong learners can access the full series online — completely free of charge — from the comfort of their own home.

Did you know that Road Scholar offers several forms of financial assistance to help make educational travel accessible to more older adults? Need-based scholarships are available to help cover program costs, and a dedicated grant opportunity supports unpaid family caregivers who could benefit from a meaningful learning experience and a well-deserved break.

Road Scholar also offers a special scholarship for AmeriCorps Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions, expanding access to educational travel while giving program managers an added recruitment and retention tool for their volunteers.
