We're proud to share that Road Scholar has been recognized as a Travelife Partner, an internationally recognized designation for sustainable travel.

Travelife is a global sustainability program for the travel industry that helps organizations strengthen and measure their environmental, social and economic impact. Travelife Partner status is awarded to travel organizations that meet established standards for environmental responsibility, community engagement and sustainable business practices.

To achieve this designation, Road Scholar completed a formal assessment process and demonstrated its commitment to continuous improvement across its organizational operations and programs.

This recognition reflects something that has long been important to us: supporting the communities and environments that make our learning adventures possible.

“We chose to partner with Travelife because accountability and transparency are central to our values,” said Bryn Geddes, Senior Manager of Program Sustainability. “It’s important to us that participants can trust that when they choose Road Scholar, they’re supporting travel that is thoughtful, responsible and committed to protecting both places and people.”

For us, this milestone is not a finish line, but a meaningful step forward. At Road Scholar, we believe learning and travel go hand in hand. That means not only exploring the world, but doing so thoughtfully — supporting local communities, respecting cultural heritage and continually looking for ways to improve our impact.

As part of our ongoing commitment, we'll continue to evaluate and strengthen our practices, measure our progress and look for new ways to support the destinations and communities connected to our programs.

“This is just one step in our ongoing commitment to being lifelong learners ourselves,” said Meghan Flynn, Associate Vice President of Program Management & Strategy. “We’re excited to continue growing our understanding of sustainability and to share that knowledge with our participants. By doing so, we hope to play a meaningful role in preserving the destinations we all treasure for this generation of learners and the next.”

Whether you're joining a program close to home or across the globe, you can feel confident that your experience supports a more responsible approach to travel.

We're proud of this recognition — and even more excited about the work ahead.
