Wonderful fascinating program that takes participants into the inner workings of foreign service. This topic is very timely given the changes occurring at the federal level. The presenters are apolitical unbiased professionals who have served for decades under numerous administrations. We even learned about the life and unpaid important roles spouses fill in support of foreign service goals. Truly discovered,’how the sausage is made!’

A wonderful program-very much enjoyed the lectures-the presenters were great, with good content. We had one day where there were "back to back" lectures, and then another day where we did tours of St. Petersburg and then free time for the rest of the day. I would have preferred to have these 2 days intermixed, with some lectures and tours in one day. The hotel was very nice, and the meals we were provided were tasty and very plentiful. The location of the hotel in Tierra Verde requires either a car or an Uber to access most services, sites, etc. -it is somewhat isolated. Thoroughly enjoyed my fellow Road Scholars-interesting mix of people from around the country. This was my first Road Scholar trip-I will be back!

The U.S. Foreign Service Representing America Abroad was an opportunity to learn about a topic typically not found elsewhere from people who were part of the U.S. Foreign Service, and hence, had actual experience in this area.

Outstanding Program. Helpful presentations on what is going on in political situations around the world. The presentation on Belarus was unforgettable - helpful in understanding the way a dictator takes over. The hotel was wonderful. In itself it was a mini vacation. Thanks, Road Scholar.

This program helped me to have a much greater appreciation for the Foreign Service in our country and the very gifted and committed people who are involved in this service. Also it truly helped us to understand more of the realities and challenges being faced by those presently in our Foreign Service.
